Abby + Jesse
Abby and Jesse met at a yacht festival in Croatia, traveled back and forth between Houston (where she lived) and Boston (where he lived) for a year, and, when it came time to wed, chose Aspen—where her family has traveled every summer for the past 15 years. “With Jesse being from Maine originally, we felt it was the perfect place to ‘meet in the middle,’” Abby says. The pair’s nuptial celebration started with a church ceremony in town, followed by an elegant but relaxed reception in a ski lodge at the top of Ajax Mountain. “We were able to turn it into a romantic reception venue using the breathtaking mountain views as the perfect scenic backdrop,” and white, green and pale pink flowers in an “organic, romantic and feminine” design scheme, she says. “We tied in some of our stationery, and our monogram, into the reception design as well. I love texture, so we had a mix of champagne-velvet and Lucite chairs, and a ton of flowers and greenery.” Marrying in Aspen, surrounded by her closest friends and family, made for beautiful memories, Abby says. “It really does feel like a second home, and definitely has a special place in my heart.”
