They both love tropical fruit, coconut water and spending their weekends cooking, and doing bible education work. They both name kindness and dedication to family as the qualities they love most in each other. And on one fine spring day, at a castle-like Houston wedding venue, Lisa and Melbon both said “I do,” in front of 100 close friends and family members. Their wedding celebration, which incorporated the couple’s Caribbean, Portuguese and Indian cultures, surrounded gathered guests with beautiful, larger-than-life white, blush and peach flower arrangements and tons of candles, courtesy of Houston floral design firm Plants N’ Petals. Right after the ceremony, guests were treated to “a festive cocktail hour where they listened to steel drum music from Steel Vibrations, whose members are from my home country of Trinidad and Tobago,” Lisa recounts. At the reception, the bride and groom made an entrance to their favorite Indian love song, then joined their guests for a festive evening of dinner and dancing, culminating in a sparkler exit, and a departure via–what else?–a vintage white Rolls Royce!
