Reality TV star, Jordan Kimball, a former contestant on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, met the love of his life, “total rom-com style,” at the LAX airport. Christina, a teacher from Houston, was the one who ultimately stole his heart. They ended up going on a date the same day they met, and after some time, a proposal was in the makes. Jordan booked a photographer on Christmas Eve and planned on proposing during their family photos. The ring arrived just hours before, and Jordan had to drive to FedEx to retrieve it. Overall, his plan worked out, and Christina said yes. “Boy, the look on her face! I got her, literally!” says Jordan.
Aerospace engineers Jasmine and Corey first met while working at United Space Alliance, a NASA contractor. “Jasmine had joined some friends of mine on one of their infamous ‘ergonomic break’ walks and they stopped by my office cube on the way outside,” recalls Corey. “We started talking to one another and never really stopped hanging out since that moment 11 years ago.”
Following a romantic proposal in Fredricksburg, the couple tied the knot in a colorful wedding at waterfront venue Waters Edge, flawlessly planned and styled by Claudia De Velasco of A Day To Remember. Jasmine and Corey pledged their love in an “informal outdoor ceremony” beneath a chiffon draped canopy adorned with white, red and orange flowers by premier Houston florists Dream Bouquet. Afterward, the newlyweds joined 168 of their closest friends and family members for a festive ballroom reception filled with drinks, dancing, yard games, music, and a photo booth from LG Event Entertainment & Production. For the reception decor, the couple kept things “casual and colorful” featuring lush vibrant flowers and chic lounge furniture, with a vivid wedding palette of pink, orange, and red with iceberg blue accents. Favorite moments for the bride and groom included, “The ceremony, the first dance, and partying with family and friends!”

When a couple submits their wedding to us, one of the things we like to ask them is, “What was the greatest obstacle to planning your wedding?” As you can imagine, there are some common responses to this one: “Living in a different city from where we were having our wedding.” “Balancing our ideas about how our wedding should be with our parents’ ideas.'” “Deciding between cake and cupcakes.” “Finding clean versions of our favorite Lil’ Wayne jams.” That sort of thing. One answer we haven’t heard before? “Hurricane Harvey.” Until now. When the monster storm made landfall on the Texas Gulf Coast as a category 4 hurricane late on Aug. 25, to-be-weds Fabiana and Ander had a decision to make: whether or not to proceed with their dream wedding, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 26, at beautiful indoor-outdoor wedding venue The Gallery, in the Galleria area of Houston. The couple, who both attended college in Venezuela, met while applying to a “model UN” group during their sophomore year. With so many of their guests coming into town from Venezuela and other far-off locales to attend their once-in-a-lifetime celebration (100 of the originally planned 120 guests braved Harvey for the bash!), the pair decided the show must go on. And go on it did. Notes the bride, with admirable calm, “We had the time of our lives thanks to our guests, and danced until the rain got too strong.” We are both honored and delighted to share Fabiana and Ander’s charming, joyful and truly unforgettable “hurricane wedding” with you. Congratulations to the newlyweds; may clear skies shine above you, and may love fill all your days!
