Lauren and Patrick were ready to find love, so they gave Match.com a chance and connected with each other just one month after joining. “After weeks of communicating, we knew more about each other than most people know about each other in months,” says Lauren. Even though Lauren lived in Houston and Patrick lived in Galveston, Patrick drove an hour into the city to take her out on their first date! They chatted for hours over dinner, and needless to say—they hit it off.
Almost two years later, Patrick joined Lauren on her family vacation in New York City, but little did she know, he had a little something special planned for just the two of them! Lauren and Patrick went on a romantic NYC tour that started off with breakfast at Le Parker Meridien, followed by a tour of the Statue of Liberty. “I started to count the cargo ships we saw since Patrick is in the shipping industry and it’s something we’ve done since we began dating,” she says. “After I finished counting, I turned around to tell Patrick that I love him. At that very moment, he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him!”
Lauren walked down the aisle wearing a chic Oscar de la Renta gown paired with the perfect ivory Christian Louboutin pumps.
Lauren’s vision of a rustic-elegant wedding came to life with the help of the talented team at Darryl & Co. The soft color palette of blush, pale pink, ivory, marsala and gold accents added the perfect touch of glam Lauren was looking for.
“Our favorite moment was our surprise fireworks at the end of the evening. We stood in the rain and watched the fireworks, then said our goodbyes to our guests,” says Lauren. Sounds like the ideal Houston wedding to us! Congrats and best wishes to the newlyweds!
