Barbara and Julian, both born and raised in Houston, have known each other since the 5th grade. But their love story didn’t start until they lived across the country from each other: Barbara in New York and Julian in San Francisco. After doing long distance for a year and a half, Barbara made the big move to San Francisco. She says, “After a certain point, you just want to be able to tell each other goodnight without a 3-hour time difference.” Now, the couple has been happily living in San Francisco for seven years.

Julian’s proposal was both sentimental and sweet, taking place on the rooftop of their first apartment. It was a spot filled with memories of cozy picnics and stunning views of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge.

Barbara and Julian returned to their hometown for their wedding, choosing the historic Corinthian Houston as the venue. Plants N’ Petals created a striking ceremony backdrop filled with vibrant shades of orange, pink, and purple. Making the day even more special, the bride’s best friend’s dad officiated the ceremony, and the couple wrote their own vows. “There’s something very meaningful about expressing your love to someone in front of the people that love you both and want to support you,” Barbara shares.

The reception was a vibrant celebration with bold floral centerpieces and décor, including lush greenery, bright flowers, and even disco balls over the dance floor. One of the most memorable moments for Barbara and Julian was their first dance, cheered on by all their loved ones. As the night went on, the couple continued dancing, surrounded by their guests, ending their special day on a high note.
