The Texas Renaissance Festival is opening this week, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to mark the occasion by revisiting Nicole and Bryan’s unforgettable celebration at last year’s 50th anniversary.

Bryan is Nicole’s best friend’s brother. “I knew about him, but we never hung out. We started talking one day and never stopped,” Nicole recalls. Just six months later, Bryan proposed with a heartfelt gesture: a trail lined with sweet signs, family and friends gathered at the end, and a celebration that began the moment she said “yes.”

On December 1, 2024, Nicole and Bryan brought their love story to life in the most imaginative way by saying “I do” at the Texas Renaissance Festival. Guests embraced the theme with Renaissance-inspired attire, creating a whimsical ambiance for the day. Bryan made a grand entrance to the Cathedral chapel with drums beating and cheers of “Make way for the king!” while Nicole arrived by carriage as “Make way for the queen!” rang out across the festival grounds.

The details carried the magic through every moment, from a hawk serving as the “wing bearer” and delivering the rings, to the sunlight streaming into the chapel surrounded by greenery. Their reception glowed with rich burgundy and gold décor, and the evening concluded with fire dancers and fireworks, perfectly echoing the energy of the festival.

Nicole says, “We were so happy to celebrate our wedding on the 50th anniversary of the Texas Renaissance Festival. Huzzah!”
