Kristina and Charlie’s love story started at a Houston fitness group, Camp Gladiator Boot Camp. Charlie would strategically place his mat next to Kristina’s every week. Despite doing this for several classes, he had yet to speak to her. Finally, Kristina gathered the courage to say hello, and the rest is history.

Navy, Blush & Gray Wedding by MD Turner Photography
It all started in 2010 when Kaitlyn and Nathan first met after the OU vs. Florida State football game. They immediately hit it off, started messaging each other on Facebook, went on their first date a week later and the rest is history. Four years later, Kaitlyn wed Nathan in a classic Monique Lhuillier gown holding a gorgeous peony and rose bouquet accented with her grandmother’s prayer book. The reception was exactly how she pictured it: simplicity with a hit of romantic elegance, thanks to AJ’s Urban Petals expertise. “It rained all day, but it made the atmosphere more romantic”, said Kaitlyn. Thanks MD Turner Photography for sharing the lovely photos with us and congrats to the newlyweds!

Weddings in Houston “Whiteout” Party at La Colombe d’Or by Civic Photos
We are SO fortunate to do what we love…and LOVE what we do. And none of it would be possible without our amazingly talented and dedicated clients, who just happen to be Houston’s absolute finest wedding vendors and experts. Oh–and another thing: These party people know how to PARTY. Which they proved in grand style last week when Weddings in Houston hosted our annual client appreciation party at magnificent, historic La Colombe d’Or. This year’s theme? Whiteout Night with WIH. Guests arrived attired all in cool, crisp white, and enjoyed a fabulous respite from the hot summer night. Our BIG thanks goes out to La Colombe d’Or’s Ed Bodde and Steve Zimmerman for hosting this year’s festivities and indulging our guests with fine food and drink, to Darryl Murchison and BJ of Darryl & Co. for their exceptional event decor and styling, to Susie’s Cakes & Confections for the evening’s utterly decadent desserts, and to Jonny Black Productions for awesome music and entertainment. Check out pix from our fantastic fete, shot by super-talented Barett Henry of Civic Photos. And remember, every single one of these vendors is available to bring their magic to your wedding, as as they did to our lil’ ol’ shindig.
Vintage-Elegant Houston Wedding by Motley Melange Photography
There’s just something so darn sweet (and LOL funny) about this journalistic, third-party courtship story we received on behalf of Houston couple Amy and Jimmy: “After seeing a picture of Amy through a friend’s Facebook, Jimmy was determined to meet her and asked a friend of his to introduce him to her. The introduction was made, but the first date was not made until six months later. Jimmy and Amy had dinner and bonded while watching the first ‘Paranormal Activity’ movie. Since then, they have watched every ‘Paranormal Activity’ movie except for the fourth one, due to Jimmy being out of the country during their anniversary.” See what we mean?? Think that’s cute, just check out their understated, vintage-elegant Houston wedding, with its white, gold, gray and pink palette, and Amy’s gorgeous, keyhole-back Monique Lhuillier gown. Cheers to the newlyweds, and big thanks to Motley Melange Photography for the lovely photos.

Modern Silver and Fuchsia Persian-Lebanese-American Wedding from Weddings by Alefiya
Here’s what Halleh wanted for her Houston wedding: “Modern, chic, multicultural and FUN (not boring)!” So here’s what she did NOT have: “Traditional bridesmaids, groomsmen, registries or a traditional wedding dress.” Instead, she and Nano went for modern flowers—courtesy of Houston Wedding Blog fave Plants N’ Petals—a cool photo booth from Jonny Black Productions and a delish DIY (dip it yourself) chocolate fountain. The bride’s Persian and American heritages were featured, as was the groom’s Lebanese background. And everyone had fun, fun, fun ‘til the wee hours. Don’t take our word for it—check out our wonderful photos from Weddings by Alefiya, which document this stylish couple and sensational celebration in all its beauty and joy. Congratulations all around!
