“Weston proposed in Brooklyn overlooking the water with the NYC skyline in the background,” remembers bride Liles. “It was absolutely breathtaking.” After finding inspiration within the pages of Weddings in Houston magazine, Liles planned a wedding that was both a “fun and memorable” affair with a “romantic” theme. “Our venue was beautiful without any decor, but I knew I wanted to dress it up in a big way for our day,” says the bride who describes a ballroom filled with greenery and colorful florals in a stunning palette of mauve, blush, and creams.
The celebration included personal touches such as a live painter, custom cocktail napkins to include their pets, with cute sayings: “Raise the woof” “Guard your drink” “Purr me another” and “Hightail it to the dance floor” and Weston playing “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John with the band on stage. The bride adds, “We also incorporated some very non traditional aspects—I had a Bridesman and Weston had a Best Woman.” Photographer Amy Maddox expertly captured the celebration through her light and airy photography style. “Everyone has asked us what our favorite part about our wedding was, but truly the whole day was just the best day ever. All of it coming together the way I’d very thoughtfully planned was so awesome!”

Brittany and Zach met in middle school and quickly became best friends. Fast forward to their senior year homecoming dance where Zach took the first step towards love by asking Brittany to dance. “With the nudge from my mother and best friend, I agreed to risk the closest friendship I ever had for a chance at love,” recalls the bride. “Later that night, he formally asked me to be his girlfriend, and 8 years later that friendship is still the biggest foundation of our love together.” During the winter of 2017, Grant talked Brittany into going to a last-minute photo session saying his mother wanted family portraits. Although annoyed at the 24-hour notice, Brittany quickly found an outfit and arrived at the session where the photographer asked the couple to write down what they love most about one another on a chalkboard while standing back to back. “When I turned around his board read ‘that she has no idea I’m about to propose’ and he was down on one knee holding that sign,” says Brittany. “Who couldn’t say yes to that!”
For their garden wedding at picturesque Kemah Gardens, the couple came up with unique wedding ideas to celebrate their nuptials in a “different” way. Notes the bride: “Our seating chart was a crossword puzzle you had to play to find your seats, our sign-in board was a glass infinity symbol that encompassed our fingerprints in the loops, and at the ceremony we did a lock-and-key board, throwing the key in the lake behind us and our board had a Harry Potter quote we both loved. For our first dance, we choreographed our dance with a waltz and added some sign language because it was one of our favorite classes together in high school.” A beautiful palette of blush and white with touches of burgundy and lots of vinery set the tone for a garden wedding celebration. Following a romantic outdoor ceremony beneath Kemah Gardens’ flower-adorned vintage arbor, the couple joined 100 of their loved ones for a relaxing and fun reception in the wedding venue’s comfortable, climate-controlled pavilion. Says Brittany, “The whole thing was just an absolutely beautiful day with just enough unique surprises to make it our own!” Join us in wishing this sweet couple a lifetime of love and scroll down to see their romantic garden wedding. Congratulations, Brittany & Zach!

Adrianne and Brian’s fall wedding celebration at lovely, leisurely Pine Forest Country Club was the perfect reflection of their relationship, in its beauty, ease and joy. The pair met on Match.com, had their first date at a Fort Worth pub, and got engaged after cooking dinner together one evening at Brian’s apartment. For their October nuptials, the bride wore her mother’s wedding dress, which had been handmade by Adrianne’s grandmother. Radiant in the fall day’s natural sunlight, Adrianne joined Brian for photographs on the lush, green grounds of Pine Forest Country Club. The newlyweds joined 150 friends and family members for a relaxing celebration in the club’s light-filled ballroom, surrounded by roses, hydrangeas, greenery and “a touch of peach stock,” the bride notes. “The food was delicious,” Adrianne says of the club’s renowned culinary offerings. She adds that walking down the aisle at her church ceremony, and dancing to the evening’s playlist of pop and country tunes (and especially her first dance with groom Brian) are among her most cherished memories of her Houston fall wedding.
