Michael planned the sweetest proposal for his high school sweetheart Sarah. “After dinner, Michael told me to put a blindfold on. He took me to several places around Kingwood where we had special memories: our first kiss, where he first told me he loved me, and our old high school meet-up spot. At each stop, Michael gave me a rose and proceeded to tell me a reason why he loved me at every spot. The final stop was at the golf course where Michael and I had our first date. When I took off the blindfold, he was down on one knee with rose petals scattered around him and a bottle of champagne. After I said “yes”, Michael had gathered both of our families to celebrate,” says bride Sarah. A sweet proposal story like this deserves an even sweeter wedding. From its serene gold-accented palette, to its seasonal menu of roasted corn chowder and beef tenderloin with wild-mushroom-and-onion risotto, to its crystal chandeliers and soft candlelight, Hayley and Jeffrey’s fall wedding is pretty much a perfect example of how to do fall elegance fabulously. The couple, who met on a blind date (!!)—which led to a second date the very next day—wanted their marriage celebration to be not just full of love, but utterly timeless. Looking absolutely gorgeous in her Lazaro gown, bride Corina wed handsome groom Eric in front of 130 of the couple’s nearest and dearest. And despite the heat of the summer day, Chateau Cocomar looked fresh and cool for the occasion, filled as it was with crisp linens, gorgeous blush and ivory flowers courtesy of Arteflora, and plenty of light-catching crystals. For all its elegant formality, this Houston couple’s wedding was also FUN, featuring dancing, sparklers, teddy bears…and a performance by none other than the bride herself! What is it about dimpled beauties and fitness-related meet-cutes?? Even though Scott admits he “hated the challenges of a spin class” (um, yeah, been there), he figured strained muscles and spent lung capacity was worth it if it meant winning a “million-dollar smile” from the girl of his dreams—spin/cycling instructor Sarah. After forming a friendship and—our favorite part—falling in love, the two got engaged, in the spin studio where they first met (natch). “Briscoe Manor offered a distinctive, chic and truly Texas wedding venue with its limestone architecture and country setting among the pecan and oak trees,” Sarah tells us—the perfect spot to introduce Canadian-born Scott’s family to her native state. Her most memorable moments? “Getting to see Scott for the first time before the ceremony and spending special moments with my soon-to-be husband, and looking around at a room full of friends and family that we love so dearly. I especially enjoyed getting to introduce all of the Canadian guests to a true Texas-themed wedding!” And WE especially enjoy getting to introduce Sarah and Scott to YOU—with help from Lindsay Elizabeth’s ever lovely photos, of course!
