When it came time for Taylor to propose to his college sweetheart, Catherine, he did what smart-and-smitten guys do in these circumstances: He enlisted the help of Catherine’s best friend. Together, the co-conspirators arranged to have Taylor waiting in an exam room at the veterinary clinic where Catherine works as a vet tech. “My coworkers came and told me that a client had requested me for a tech appointment, and that they were waiting for me in room 4,” the bride recounts. “When I went in, I was shocked to see Taylor in there, down on one knee, and a wood sign around his dog’s neck that read, ‘Will you marry my daddy?’ Little did I know that it was being filmed the whole time, and my coworkers were watching in another room!” For their fall wedding, the couple chose the beautiful natural setting of 15 Acres, a contemporary destination-style wedding venue located under an hour’s drive from Houston in Hockley, Texas. The bride planned her DIY wedding, with help from family and bridesmaids. Click here to read the rest of this post »
If there’s one thing Chris Nguyen of Cafe Natalie Catering understands, it’s that your wedding guests will remember the food they ate at your celebration. So that food better be…AMAZING.
And when Cafe Natalie is behind the dishes being served to your dearest friends and family, you know it will be. From the moment your guests wipe away those last ceremony tears and tuck into a Cafe Natalie prosciutto-wrapped scallop and mango mojito (or buttermilk-chicken-and-waffle bite and mint julep, or Maryland lump crab cake with chipotle aioli and peach bellini…drooling yet??), they’ll know they’re in for something special. Just how special, you ask? Click here to read the rest of this post »
Creative and delicious appetizers make your wedding menu memorable. These little bites are a great way to feature high-end ingredients without adjusting your catering budget. Given creative leeway, Houston wedding caterers deliver big flavor in small portions, with imaginative presentation that just might steal the spotlight.
We love it when a Houston bride tells us that the absolute most difficult challenge in preparing for her wedding was “waiting for the day to finally come.” We should all be so fortunate!!
For Emily and Kyle, who met at church in 7th grade, the ease of planning their wedding started with one excellent choice: Picking The Gallery as their Houston wedding venue. “I wanted a very organic and romantic feel,” Emily says. And The Gallery, with its ivy-covered walls, burbling fountain and rustic wood accents, was the perfect backdrop for her vision of relaxed, joyful, green, blush and ivory wedding. Vewiser, who met Tiesha while the two were attending Lamar University, used a trip to Disney World to set the backdrop for his creative proposal. On New Year’s Day, after a visit to the Florida theme park, Vewiser presented his beloved with a photo album filled with pics from their trip…with one very special addition on the last page: a photo of an engagement ring. “He immediately got down on one knee and expressed his love for me, and how our love has grown over the years,” notes the bride. The pair sealed the deal in front of 240 friends and family, Tiesha in a beautiful lace mermaid gown from Parvani Vida, with a gorgeous boho chic wedding designed and decorated by Plants N’ Petals. The Houston floral firm brought Tiesha’s vision of vivid hues and flower crowns to life. “I wanted to use bright colors for the flower arrangements and not the typical ‘wedding colors,'” the bride says. “We both agreed bright colors matched our relationship and vivid personalities so we wanted to incorporate that in our wedding.” In addition to the fabulous decor, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed delicious offerings from Houston’s Café Natalie Catering which included chicken parmesan, salmon, roasted vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. After a night of dancing and fun, the festivities ended off with an incredible fireworks display. “Our wedding was everything we wanted and more, truly a blessing from God and a dream come true!”
