After three and a half years of long-distance dating, Kaleb proposed to Gilda in her very favorite place: sunny Carmel, CA. When it came time to propose, Kaleb devised a plan to surprise his college sweetheart with a beach picnic. Kaleb says, “The day of the proposal, we went on a hike at sea lion point, then came home to rest, and I was anything but restful. Gilda had no idea about my nerves because she took a nice relaxing nap. Under false pretenses of going to take pictures and walk on the beach, we headed down and walked up on the picnic, which she was questioning if it was for us. I got down on one knee and proposed, both of us with tear-filled eyes.”

The couple knew they wanted a wedding that highlighted the “beauty and true meaning of marriage” from the start. So after an emotional first touch, Mackenzie and Ryan pledged their love in a light-filled chapel with an altar decorated with lush greenery and pops of blush and ivory Peonies, Roses and Ranunculus.
Downtown Brenham Engagement Shoot by Sarah Ainsworth Photography
Recognized as a National Register District, downtown Brenham is pretty much picture-perfect for classic photos with a charming small-town feel. Which is exactly why photographer Sarah Ainsworth and her clients Hayley and Jeffrey chose the location as the backdrop for the couple’s engagement shoot. As Ainsworth tells us, “It had that great mix of the cute downtown square, with old buildings and unique architecture, but also offered the country landscape that provided perfect open fields.” We can’t help falling in love with Hayley and Jeffrey, who’ll wed in Houston in October. Good luck and congrats to the almost-weds, and big thanks to Weddings in Houston fave Sarah Ainsworth for sharing her lovely photos!
