Blush & Champagne Great Gatsby Wedding at The Bell Tower on 34th
Sparks flew instantly when Clara and Marko met one fateful night at a favorite Woodlands watering hole. The pair were so captivated by each other, in fact, that an impromptu first date followed at a local diner, as soon as the bar closed for the night. Over bacon and coffee, Clara knew she found someone special, and soon the lovebirds were traveling the world together. As for Marko’s proposal, spontaneity sparked the moment: “One night, when we were in our pajamas, eating junk food and watching Disney movies, it felt right, and I got on one knee, right then and there,” he says. The couple had their ceremony and reception at The Bell Tower on 34th, where an elegant, villa-like atmosphere evoked the couple’s favorite book, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby.” Notes Clara: “My favorite moment was my entrance down the grand staircase, and seeing the love of my life waiting at the end of the long walkway for me.” Our favorite moment? That’d have to be…all of the ones featured in this here blog post!

Intimate Restaurant Wedding by Civic Photos
It’s a story as old as time: Bright-eyed, ambitious young intern meets seasoned company full-timer; water-cooler chat turns flirtatious; love ensues… (OK, we don’t really know about the water cooler part, but you get the picture!). Following a cozy proposal at home, over a home-cooked meal and wine, sweethearts Paola and Aaron made food and wine the center of their focus once again, with an elegant wedding for 35 guests, featuring an intimate church ceremony followed by a six-course French dinner at a favorite Houston restaurant. “Our wedding was meant to be a classic theme that would be beautiful years from now,” the bride tells us, and we have to say, “Yup, looks like you hit the mark perfectly!” We wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, and invite YOU to enjoy their celebration, through these lovely pix, including gorgeous portraits at the historic Julia Ideson Library, from Civic Photos!

Jenny and Chris knew each other long before they would ever fall in love. Their families were great friends even before the two were born! When Jenny was very young, her family moved away from Houston to Corpus Christi, but they eventually returned. So did Jenny, many years later, to attend nursing school. Chris, by that time, had moved to Austin. That’s when fate brought them back together, at a party at Jenny’s parents’ home, where they reconnected, and Jenny says, “we have been inseparable ever since!” The proposal happened on a weekend when the couple had traveled to Austin for a friend’s wedding—totally smooth move on Chris’ part. Jenny wasn’t suspecting a thing with another wedding going on! They went out for a date night at one of their favorite Austin spots, but the hostess didn’t lead them to a table. Instead, she led them “down candle-filled steps into a private wine cellar.” (Keep going! Here come those cute details we promised…) The cellar door opened and Jenny still recalls all of the details perfectly; champagne, candles and being surrounded by the most beautiful flowers. In the most romantic way Chris proposed to Jenny, the love of his life. And he gets kudos because he made sure the moment didn’t stop there…when they returned to Houston, their families were ready and waiting with a party to celebrate! Jenny and Chris couldn’t wait to say I do—and Jenny couldn’t wait to see Chris’ face when he saw her in her gorgeous Liancarlo gown from Ivory Bridal Atelier. The big day started with a meaningful ceremony at their church, and concluded with a fantastic reception hosted and catered by the Petroleum Club of Houston. We’re grateful to Serendipity Photography for sharing photos of this sweet couple’s wedding, and grateful to Jenny and Chris for sharing their special day with us…and all of you!
