While Catherine and Paten originally met and even dated for a few years in high school starting in 2009, it wasn’t until a crawfish boil seven years later that the pair rekindled their romance. When they started dating a few months later, they could feel this time was different than their previous fling. So, when Paten got down on one knee during a trip to New Braunfels with a group of close friends, “he asked the easiest question of my life!” explained Catherine. Then, in March 2021, the couple tied the knot in a stunning white and rose gold wedding at Madera Estates.
The architecturally breathtaking Madera Estates was the perfect backdrop for Catherine and Paten to celebrate with their 250 guests. The white and rose gold wedding florals and décor against the warm, southwestern feel of this gorgeous venue exuded elegance from start to finish. As Catherine read a letter from her soon-to-be husband and began to get ready, sunlight illuminated the bridal suite. She opted for romantic curls ever-so-slightly pulled back to pin her cathedral-length veil. Catherine’s subtle, smoky eye, full lashes, nude lipstick, and dainty earrings added a perfect dash of glamour to her look. Once ready, her bridesmaids joined her as she prepared to walk down the rose petal adorned aisle.
The Ceremony and Reception
Catherine walked arm-in-arm with her father, enjoying a special moment with him before joining her groom in front of Madera Estates’ Grand Fireplace. The outdoor ceremony was absolutely stunning, bursting with white and blush blooms. After the couple exchanged their vows, the party began in the venue’s reception hall.
Crystal chandeliers and candlelight cast the most beautiful twinkle against the white and rose gold wedding décor. Each table was adorned with a mix of short and tall, bursting floral arrangements. After dinner, the couple sliced into their incredible wedding cakes. The first was a traditional, four-tiered white wedding cake with a sweet, modern topper. Then, the playful groom’s cake paid homage to how the couple reconnected at the crawfish boil. And finally, the bride slipped into a pair of white sneakers to dance the night away with her new husband, family, and friends. After the party wound down, the couple departed under a canopy of stars and sparklers into a vintage trolley car.
Not only were Catherine and Paten able to find the venue of their dreams through Weddings in Houston, but they also found the perfect photographer for their style. Ama by Aisha captured each magical moment with flawless lighting from pre-ceremony until the stars came out over the couple’s sparkler-studded exit.
