A Black-and-White Wedding Inspired by a Houston Astros Love Story

Jennifer and Alan met unexpectedly in Mexico City during a Houston Astros series, a trip they had both nearly canceled. On Jennifer’s final day, she and her friends stumbled upon a popular bar, where both she and Alan had separately convinced the hostess to let them in. Jennifer spotted Alan across the room and made the first move with a handwritten note, only to discover he was also from Houston. Once home, the two reconnected and initially agreed just to be friends, but Alan soon had a change of heart, turning their chance encounter into the start of something more.

Alan planned a romantic dinner for two, with Jennifer having no idea what was in store. When they arrived, she was led to a table inside a stunning glass wine cellar, where a large heart made of red roses awaited her with the words, “Will you marry me?” Alan dropped to one knee and asked Jennifer to spend forever with him. “It was the easiest ‘yes’ of my life,” the bride says.

Jennifer and Alan said “I do” in August 2025 with a traditional church ceremony followed by a black-and-white wedding reception at Le Tesserae. Before walking down the aisle, the couple exchanged private vows, creating a quiet moment together before the festivities began. They continued that sentiment into the evening with a cocktail hour for two before joining their guests for the reception. Disco ball dancers from Premier Sound and Lighting brought plenty of energy to the dance floor, while a three-tier wedding cake by Cakes by Gina and an Astros-themed burger bar paid tribute to the team that first brought the couple together. RayMar Photo and Films captured the day from beginning to end, including Jennifer and Alan’s band-led exit to close out the night.
