This Houston Wedding Band Rocked a Reception in Full Bloom

Laura and Tommy met in high school in 2005 and stayed friends through college at Texas A&M. They briefly dated before going their separate ways. Years later, they reconnected during a trip to a mutual friend’s ranch. “We went to the ranch as friends and felt like we were reconnecting again to where I felt, ‘Wow, I have feelings for this man,'” Laura says. Afterward, she texted Tommy to share how she felt. He told her he had feelings too and said, “Let’s try this out.”

Three years later, after moving to Oklahoma City, Tommy planned a romantic proposal. His plans came to a halt, literally, when they got stuck in their apartment elevator for two hours. Undeterred, Tommy carried on with his plan: a boat tour, dinner and a twilight canal stroll, where he proposed under twinkling lights. Laura says, “Even though we got stuck in an elevator, it turned into the best night of my life!”

On October 19, 2024, the couple exchanged vows at Laura’s childhood church. One of her favorite moments was getting ready with the important women in her life, dressed in matching floral pajamas while she wore white.

The reception space came to life in rich hues of pink, blue, green, and white. Each table featured either towering floral arrangements or clusters of candlelight, creating a warm, romantic setting. Signature cocktails featured custom monogrammed stirrers, while the couple’s white, blue, and gold stationery by Bering’s added a refined finishing touch.

Later, the dance floor filled with energy. Houston wedding band, Danny Ray and the Atlantic Street Band, kept the vibes high, and Laura says, “Being with all our friends and family on the dance floor was just an amazing time.” The couple ended the night in style with a sparkler exit and one last wave.
