The phrase “When you know, you know” couldn’t be more true for Julia and Bryce! Julia has always loved weddings and dreamed of her own since she was a little girl. So when she met Bryce in 2017 not only did she immediately know he would be her future husband, but she also knew exactly what type of wedding she wanted when the time came.
Following a romantic beachside proposal, the time finally came 11 months later when the couple tied the knot in a traditional Catholic church ceremony before joining 230 of their loved ones for a classic wedding reception at Northgate Country Club. “We wanted a very timeless and classic wedding,” notes the bride, describing the elegant rose gold and white color palette. “The white dance floor and white draped walls, paired with the large windows overlooking the rolling hills of Northgate Country Club, made for the most elegant reception. We had large arrangements of peonies, spray roses, and hydrangeas which matched perfectly with the blush uplighting. The glass chandeliers, rose petals, and floating candles in all of the window sills transformed the venue into the most dreamy space.” The newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a delectable filet mignon with roasted potatoes and asparagus and danced the night away before ending their classic wedding celebration with a golden sparkler sendoff! Says Julia: “Our big day was nothing short of the most marvelous fairy tale.” Join us in wishing this sweet Houston couple a lifetime of love and scroll down to see their stunning highlight wedding video from Houston videographer Reverent Wedding Films. “We didn’t meet by locking eyes across a crowded bar, or bump into each other at a crowded coffee shop like you see in the movies, or even get introduced by mutual friends,” says Houston bride Katherine. “Our love story started with a simple swish of the finger… yes, we met on Tinder in Austin, Texas!”

Facebook is a great way of connecting with family, old friends and even, in some cases, your future bae. Case in point: Makia and Sean. They attended the same church growing up, parted ways and eventually reconnected on Facebook, where casual chat turned into something that just felt…right.
It was Makia’s birthday and Sean wanted to make sure that this one was extra special. “We went rock climbing the morning of my birthday—I didn’t understand why we had to go SO early. Little did I know that Sean sneakily planted the ring in a red box on the rock climbing wall. Silly me, I ended up passing up the box and Sean had to point it out for me to notice (lol). Once I opened up the box, I was so surprised to see the ring,” says Makia.
Makia says, “We wanted a wedding that was classic and elegant, with a color palette of burgundy, champagne and ivory. The theme perfectly complemented our venue, Northgate Country Club .”
We couldn’t be happier for these two lovebirds. Congratulations and best wishes!
When we say Houston couple Jessica and Trung go way back—we mean it. They met in 8th grade on Halloween night when a big group of friends went trick-or-treating together, and later became the best of friends in 11th grade. “I told Trung I had a crush on him and he asked me out shortly after,” recounts Jessica.
Years later he found the right moment to pop the question during a romantic vacay in Hawaii. “We were en route driving from Maui to Hana, and we stopped by a no-trespassing mile marker in search of a waterfall. Once we reached the waterfall, he got down on one knee,” says Jessica. She said, “Yes,” to spending the rest of her life with her best friend (aww).
Jessica tells us, “We aimed for a simple, yet elegant wedding,” and Northgate Country Club gave them the Houston wedding of their dreams.
Some of their favorite moments included the Vietnamese tradition of visiting each table and toasting. “We also had so much fun dancing our hearts out on the dance floor,” says Jessica.
We are so happy for the adorable newlyweds, and sending best wishes!
