Greg was smitten when Meredith first messaged him on the dating app, Bumble, and said, “Hi LG!” since only his family called him by that nickname. Fast forward in time, Greg surprised Meredith with a weekend trip to his hometown in San Antonio, TX. It was in his hometown that Greg chose to propose to Meredith on the balcony of the historic Hotel Emma. Unfortunately, just a few months after their engagement, Meredith’s mother was diagnosed with cancer. Unable to make it to the wedding, Meredith and Greg found meaningful ways to honor her.

For their fall wedding, the couple chose to wed at the timeless and elegant Briscoe Manor. Meredith’s father officiated the wedding ceremony in the Briscoe Chapel, accompanied by 275 of their closest loved ones. They exchanged their vows in front of a stunning gold arch draped with florals and greenery. The bride described her wedding as “classic with a hint of modern” and thoughtfully included both wine and blush throughout the ceremony and reception. Even the deer mounts hanging on the bar walls had a wine and blush floral touch! Garden floral arrangements beautifully decorated the tables along with silver dollar eucalyptus hanging from the chandeliers and fireplace. Behind the Bash kept fall in mind, serving up a decadent fall salad with fresh spinach leaves, complete with a carving station offering both herb-crusted beef sirloin and pork loin stuffed with jalapeno cheddar cornbread.  Later that evening, white glow sticks and flower crowns were a hit on the dance floor! One of their favorite memories of the wedding was the fabulous firework display before riding off in a pearl-colored Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II from Monarch British Limousines.

Burgundy, Ivory & Gold Wedding at Northgate Country Club

Facebook is a great way of connecting with family, old friends and even, in some cases, your future bae. Case in point: Makia and Sean. They attended the same church growing up, parted ways and eventually reconnected on Facebook, where casual chat turned into something that just felt…right.

It was Makia’s birthday and Sean wanted to make sure that this one was extra special. “We went rock climbing the morning of my birthday—I didn’t understand why we had to go SO early. Little did I know that Sean sneakily planted the ring in a red box on the rock climbing wall. Silly me, I ended up passing up the box and Sean had to point it out for me to notice (lol). Once I opened up the box, I was so surprised to see the ring,” says Makia.

Makia says, “We wanted a wedding that was classic and elegant, with a color palette of burgundy, champagne and ivory. The theme perfectly complemented our venue, Northgate Country Club .”

We couldn’t be happier for these two lovebirds. Congratulations and best wishes!

Blush, Black & Gold Wedding at Crystal Ballroom at The Rice by Ama Photography & Cinema

Houston couple Marina and Frank were partying like it was 1999 (literally) when they first met at a nightclub their senior year of high school. Marina tells us, “Frank was dancing with my friend (who happened to be one of my bridesmaids) to get closer to me. He eventually made his way to me, and we exchanged numbers at the end of the night.” They kept in touch and went on a couple dates, but parted ways when Marina started college and Frank left town for boot camp—but that didn’t stop them from keeping in touch. After she graduated college and Frank came back from the military, they were inseparable.

Marina and Frank planned a trip to visit their friends in New York City…but little did she know this trip had something special in store for her. “Frank mentioned that he had never done any of the typical touristy things in the city, so I planned an entire day out of it. We went through Ellis Island Museum and walked around to take an imprint of Frank’s grandfather’s name—whose name is on The Wall of Honor—but Mark insisted that we should take a look at the skyline first. As we were walking over, his started breathing heavily and got down on one knee,” recounts Marina. She was so surprised that she couldn’t even remember most of what he said, but she does remember him saying, “My grandfather started his new life on Ellis Island, and I want us to start our new life together here.” Awwpass the tissues, please!

Exactly one year later the pair tied the knot at the Crystal Ballroom at The Rice with their nearest and dearest to witness. “We wanted to go with something elegant, classic and timeless with pops of bold elements,” says Marina.
