Reality TV star, Jordan Kimball, a former contestant on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, met the love of his life, “total rom-com style,” at the LAX airport. Christina, a teacher from Houston, was the one who ultimately stole his heart. They ended up going on a date the same day they met, and after some time, a proposal was in the makes. Jordan booked a photographer on Christmas Eve and planned on proposing during their family photos. The ring arrived just hours before, and Jordan had to drive to FedEx to retrieve it. Overall, his plan worked out, and Christina said yes. “Boy, the look on her face! I got her, literally!” says Jordan.
We partied with them at Bering’s for their registry and stationery adventure, we chatted with them about their love story, and now we are excited to welcome Astro star reliever Ryan Pressly and former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Kat Rogers back to the blog…this time with their beautiful New Year’s Eve wedding!
Houston couple Tristan and Rachel, captured by the lens of Civic Photos, are engagement shoot #goals, pure and simple. This beautiful-inside-and-out Houston pair (he’s an academic director, she’s an MBA candidate and former Miss Texas) chose The Post Oak Hotel for their engagement photography session–AND for their upcoming nuptials!–and took full advantage of the luxury property’s many amazing spaces as backdrops. Collaborating closely with his subjects, as he does for with each unique wedding couple he shoots, photographic artist Barett Henry, owner of Civic Photos, brought out the romance and joy radiating from the to-be-weds. Some images are cool and sophisticated, some are flirtatious and playful (that smile, Tristan…no wonder Rachel is crazy about you!!), and some are downright…fire. It’s the perfect union of couple, location and photographer. And it’s the perfect example of the magic that happens when two joyfully in love people allow their hearts to shine through each moment, and each pose. Join us in congratulating Tristan and Rachel on their engagement, and join us on the journey through this gorgeous Civic Photos engagement shoot! Click here to read the rest of this post »
Celebrities: They’re just like us! Take, for example, Astros star reliever Ryan Pressly, who, along with fiancée Kat Rogers—herself a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader—had to make tough decisions about where to turn for their wedding invitations and gift registry. Their choice? Iconic Houston retailer Bering’s! Not only did the couple design their wedding invitation suite through Bering’s stationery department, but they turned registering for their wedding gifts into a full-on event, complete with bubbles, bites and fabulous photos by Traci Ling of their registry adventure, featured in this post. Also featured here: A sneak peek at the couple’s full Bering’s gift registry, plus our super-fun chat with bride Kat, who reveals how she and MLB-record-holder Ryan met, how they picked Bering’s for their invites and gifts, and what gifts she’s most excited about using as a newlywed, after the couple ties the knot this New Year’s Eve in Houston! Emerald City Band | Photo: f8studio
This band, you guys…OMG. We’ve seen some pretty phenomenal wedding bands in our 30+ years in the “making memories’ biz. But 13-piece, crazy-talented, super-high-powered Emerald City Band is in a league of its own. Maybe that’s why they’ve been a Dallas favorite for decades, lending their incredible energy and musical skill to major corporate clients, Dallas pro sports teams including the Cowboys and Mavs (heck, y’all, they even played Mark Cuban’s own wedding!!). Oh–and speaking of weddings…they’ve played more than 4,000 of them, each as unique as the love story behind the nuptial celebration, and NOW they’re set to take the Houston wedding scene by storm. Top 40? Check. Dance hits? Check. Hip-hop jams, jazzy grooves, Latin-tinged beats? Oh, yeah. And the vocals? We. Can’t. Even. But don’t take our word for it…check ’em out live, in action, at link below. Then get on the horn (they’ve got three in their blazing horn section), and talk to them about available dates; they do book fast!!
