With degrees in Communications, PR and Art, and a lifetime passion for photography, Blanca Duran has everything it takes to capture and express the unique, personal feel of every wedding she photographs. We’re so excited to feature her work, and even more excited to let her explain, in her own words, how she approaches the art of wedding “storytelling” through images, and what sets her Houston wedding photography work apart.
When Adam took Hannah to the terrace of the Hilton Americas-Houston, she thought he’d brought her there to celebrate her freedom from the job she’d disliked and recently quit. But, at the elegant Downtown property, with the sunset skyline as their backdrop, he took her completely by surprise when instead of congratulating her on her liberating career move…he asked her to be his wife! After the big question, “Adam told me that my family was downstairs in the bar lounge waiting to celebrate with us,” Hannah recounts. “I was so happy. The whole experience was perfect. He did a fantastic job!” The couple’s classic white wedding was textured with touches of greenery, along with lush ivory floral arrangements and shimmering linens from Houston event designer Plants N’ Petals. “My favorite moment was when our 19-month-old niece ran up to us during our husband-and-wife dance,” Hannah says. “She got away from Mommy on accident, but it was a super cute moment that everyone gushed over!” Join us in gushing over Houston wedding photographer Blanca Duran’s gorgeous photos of this classic white wedding, and wishing Hannah & Adam all of our love, always. “We wanted a very classic winter wedding, and the historic Crystal Ballroom was perfect for this,” says Houston bride Ingrid of her wedding to her handsome groom George. The pair, who met online at eHarmony.com—“We had our first date a music festival at Discovery Green, met for dinner again the next night, and could not get enough of each other from then on,” Ingrid recounts—hosted 215 guests for an evening of ceremony and celebration, including all-night dancing to a full live band, and a gold, pewter and cream wedding color scheme that echoed December’s wintry hues. “We danced a well-rehearsed fox trot to ‘It Had To Be You’—our friends and family were very impressed by it. The band kept a full crowd on the dance floor and everyone (young and old) enjoyed it. Guests finally sent us on our way with white ecofetti that looked like snow, and the party continued at the pub next door.” Now that’s how to kick off a life of good times together! Big thanks to Blanca Duran for very pretty photos of this fabulous fete, and congratulations to Ingrid and George.

Some couples are just destined to be together. That’s how it was with Amey and William. A friend first suggested William as a “perfect” guy for Amey (though at the time, amazingly, getting set up was the furthest thing from her mind). An unexpected Facebook friend request from the groom-to-be eventually got things rolling, and William’s general adorableness and devotion sealed the deal. About her true love, our bride Amey sweetly says, “It’s as if God went down the checklist in my heart and formed William just for me!” For the the couple’s April wedding at Briscoe Manor, colorful warm lighting, glittering details and rich linens spelled romance, captured here by Blanca Duran.
