{Chateau Cocomar Opens In Grand Style}

In what just may have been the most hotly anticipated Houston wedding venue debut in as long as we can remember, Chateau Cocomar celebrated its grand opening on Friday, July 27. And let’s just say the magnificent Moulin-Rouge-theme bash proved it was worth the wait. The magnificent chandeliers! The soaring arches! The acres and acres  of gleaming, gorgeous marble! Taking all this stunning space and transforming it into a wonderland of event possibilities—with a titillating turn-of-the-century-French-cabaret edge—were some exceptional Houston vendors, helmed by planner extraordinaire Aurora Perez-Smith of Occasio Productions, and including Bright Star Productions (lighting), Elegant Beginnings (linens) and Cordua Catering (cuisine), among others.     This venue is so beautiful but has the WORST customer service i have ever experienced. Which is extremely irritating being that you dont need to be stressed when it comes to your wedding!

    Yes, i agree with Samantha, i went to an event this past saturday the place is one of the most beautiful i have seen. but YES the waitress and customer service are very but very bad… they have no training. I am just writng to let you know, you should not let that be something negative. you have an amazing place.
    need to get people qualify for the job.

    On Dec. 3, I submitted the online contact form around 10am. No response all day.

    On Dec 4, I drove by mid-morning and the gates were closed. Called to make appointment. Left message for Sherry. No response.

    Dec. 5 through Dec. 10, I began the futile practice of calling two or three times a day to try and reach Sherry. No response.

    On Dec. 10, I made my third call of the day and my final call ever. I explained that I had been forced to find another venue for my event as I had never been contacted. Kathleen was very apologetic (love her to pieces) and offerend to take yet another message for me. I politely declined.

    Almost immediately (guess that message was delivered), Sherry sent me a copy-paste email in which she did not capitalize my name and verified that the date I had *not* requested was unavailable. I responded with the correct date and expressed my sincerest wish to speak with her soon. No response.

    Dec. 11, I resend my email to her. She responds promptly with information that is absolutely unhelpful, disappointing, and completely cold.

    I informed her that I will be taking my business elswhere.

    This makes me so sad. The venue is stunning, but the representation (with the exception of Crystal and Kathleen) is deplorable.

    I hope Cocomar can get it together… Just wanted to warn anyone who might want to hold an event here, so they can go in with eyes wide open. :)
