Centerpiece of Cake

“Susie’s Cakes & Confections is a true boutique-style cake shop. We only do wedding cakes, and every cake is custom created for each couple, using only the freshest and best ingredients. Each cake is freshly baked and decorated very meticulously. We strongly believe a cake should be a beautiful work of art, and taste incredible as well. After all, the cake is the centerpiece of the reception!”

Lasting Legacy

“In the last five years, I have started to create wedding cakes for a second generation—the daughters of my previous brides. This is, by far, the biggest compliment I could receive from a client. I also have some clients who actually take my cakes to their children’s weddings overseas, which, for me, with my South American and European background, is especially satisfying. Embracing changing styles and trends in weddings, and adding new enticing flavors and fillings to meet the needs of couples who are well-travelled and have a passion for unusual combinations, are my specialties, and my greatest pleasure.”

Diverse & Delicious

“We specialize in delicious fondant and buttercream cakes, as well as sculpted and hand-painted cakes. We’ve created many magnificent cakes for celebrities, and for the ‘who’s who’ of Houston. The common element for my wedding couples is that they all just want the very best. And we give them that, from traditional tiered masterpieces to tailored modern cakes, from exquisite miniature cakes to creative groom's cakes. Our commitment to exceptional quality, combined with our expertise in baking and decorating techniques, ensures a mouthwatering, moist cake infused with rich flavors—favorites of which include butter-Kahlua, mango, Mexican chocolate and Italian crème.”

2016 Cake Trends

“This year, metallics are very in—particularly bronze and gold. We’re also seeing demand for sugar paste flowers, and we are creating flowers that are so realistic you can’t tell the difference between these and fresh blooms. Couples also are choosing to combine three different-shape tiers in a single wedding cake. And hand-painted cakes are very popular, as is bling!”
