Sharon + Jonathan
Throughout the six years, they were together before tying the knot, people frequently asked Sharon Levy and Jon Levy, “ ‘Are you sure you aren’t related?’” Sharon recounts. Well, now they can officially answer, “Yes.” After meeting in a literature class at the University of Texas at Austin, the pair formed a strong bond that strengthened further when the two studied abroad in London, summered together in New York and traveled to places like New Orleans and Mexico. Jon, who says that from the moment he met Sharon, he “couldn’t leave her side,” proposed with a fabulously romantic scavenger hunt that eventually led Sharon to the St. Regis Hotel, where he popped the question. Levy says she was “very nervous” at her ceremony, though her anxiety was somewhat relieved by the sheer beauty of the ceremony space, done up in white floral with black accents and a soothing wash of lavender lighting. She notes that one of her favorite moments of the Jewish ceremony was “when the cantor sang the wedding prayers. His voice is so moving, it moved everyone to tears! I really felt so excited to be marrying Jon at that moment.” The groom, too, recalls the ceremony happily: “One of my favorite moments was watching Sharon walk down the aisle … she just looked so stunning”—with hair and makeup by The Perfect Face. The “Old Hollywood glamour” reception kicked off with cocktails and Sinatra tunes in the ZaZa foyer, followed by a ballroom dinner and dancing. In the ballroom, lamp centerpieces featured white and fuchsia flowers and mirror tabletops, while custom eggplant linens looked swell against a room draped in white chiffon and washed in a deep lavender lighting. Guests dined on filet mignon and pecan-crusted red snapper, and luscious cake from Who Made The Cake—and after dancing, refueled with Kobe beef sliders, truffle grilled cheese sandwiches, and red velvet cupcakes.
