Sharee + Nathan
Runners Sharee and Nathan felt an instant connection during a 10K trail run at Lake Houston. After asking for his info through a mutual friend, Sharee and Nathan arranged an ice cream outing and afternoon run together. Fast-track to nearly two years later: On the eve of a trip to Boston, Nathan surprised Sharee at his apartment with a slideshow of their favorite images together, framed photos of them both, a playlist of their favorite songs, and read a heartfelt letter before kneeling with ring in hand. They then met her family for ice cream, at the scene of their very first date. "I knew I wanted a wedding filled with color, flowers and fun," says Sharee. After seeing a wedding at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa featured within the pages of Weddings in Houston, the couple fell in love with the venue and knew it was the right choice for their springtime wedding. "It was elegant, cheerful, whimsical, and bright. For us, our ceremony was the most special part of the evening. The sun was shining and gently warming the meadow." The couple wed during the golden hour under the Houstonian's iconic live oak, followed by cocktails in the Forest Ballroom. While guests enjoyed hand-crafted cocktails, sushi and lambchop pops, "Nathan and I did a first look of our room and it literally took my breath away," says Sharee. The room was filled with bright floral arrangements and softly glowing candles and glimmered with gold accents, all anchored by a gleaming white dance floor. "Every moment of that night was a highlight, but our best man's speech was one of my favorites. My husband comes from a family of four boys and one of his brothers was his best man. It was the best night of our lives!"
