Lauren and Josh met as counselors at the same day camp during the summer after high school and got engaged in New York’s Bryant Park ice rink in December 2015. And while their meet-cute and love story may have seemed simple enough, convincing their New York-based families that “a four-day destination wedding to Texas would be incredible,” was anything but. They did manage to convince their loved ones to head to Houston, and 185 of them gathered for a celebration with multiple themed events that included an all-white Mexican taco fiesta at The Houstonian outside near the pool, a Friday-night evening of cowboy-chic at Jackson Street Barbecue, and a Saturday-night black-tie wedding ceremony and reception at The Houstonian. “After 10 years of dating, we couldn't just do a five-hour event,” Lauren says. “The four days were perfect.”
