Alicia + Corey
“Corey proposed after work…when I least expected it,” remembers bride Alicia. “He lit lots of candles all over the apartment, which I later found out had to be blown out and re-lit twice because I was running late from work!” True love indeed waits for those who are patient and devoted. A worry-free wedding reception at Hotel ZaZa in Houston’s hip Museum District was just right for this easygoing couple, whose ethereal portraits and fun-loving reception images were beautifully captured by Kelli Durham Photography. “We wanted to keep things simple and elegant, but we also wanted that fun, bright flair,” says the bride, who describes a ballroom filled with vibrant pops of coral, pink and peach, and an energetic live band that kept their 275 guests dancing through the night. A springtime menu of baby spinach salad and chicken roulade was followed by vanilla-bean rum cake, with accompanying cookies and Blue Bell ice cream, in honor of the groom. “There were so many wonderful moments, it’s hard to choose just one or two favorites,” says the bride, “but the speeches given by our maid of honor and best man were so incredibly special.”
