Andrew and Myra’s story began at Wake Forest University. They first crossed paths at a freshman seminar and reconnected the following year. They grew closer as they studied together. The following semester, they both joined the same study abroad program in Salamanca, Spain, where their friendship turned into a relationship. By the time they returned to the U.S., they were inseparable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew proposed during a visit to Washington, D.C., at a quiet park near the Lincoln Memorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wedding weekend began with an intimate rehearsal dinner at the iconic Crystal Ballroom at The Rice, <\/a>where Myra and Andrew gathered with their closest family and friends in downtown Houston. The couple celebrated their November wedding with a soft palette of pale neutral tones. Myra wore a Monique Lhuillier gown, and they shared a private first look. Myra says, “In seeing and being with each other before the ceremony, we were able to eliminate all of our nerves and be excited together.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their ceremony and reception took place at Station 3<\/a>, with runway-style seating creating an intimate setting for their guests. The reception continued with romantic lounge seating, candlelight, and the warmth and character of exposed brick. Cakes by Gina<\/a> created an elegant confection, accented with warm-toned florals. Myra says, “Our last dance felt so dreamy dancing to Myles Smith’s ‘Stargazing (Moonlight Version)’ with the remnants of our celebration around us.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the day was beautiful, it came with an unexpected heartbreak. The night before the wedding, Myra’s niece and flower girl was hospitalized and needed emergency surgery, which meant Myra’s sister and niece weren’t able to attend. However, a month later, Myra returned to Station 3 in her gown for a special photo shoot with her sister and niece, recreating the moments they had looked forward to sharing on the wedding day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
