Aisha and <\/span>Su’s<\/span> love story began through mutual friends, but <\/span>it was Su who<\/span> took the first step, suggesting they hang out one-on-one. One of their early dates was to the Broadway musical <\/span>Fela!<\/span><\/em>\u2014an experience that left a lasting impression.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fast forward<\/span> to a trip to Israel, where Su was playing professional basketball. <\/span>He<\/span> surprised Aisha with a proposal <\/span>during her visit<\/span>.<\/span> “<\/span>I <\/span>didn’t<\/span> hesitate to say (scream)<\/span> ‘<\/span>yes<\/span>!’<\/span>“<\/span> Aisha says. <\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>couple’s<\/span> ceremony on August 8, 2023, blended meaningful traditions with modern elegance. Circular seating around the altar created an intimate setting, while lush, all-white florals by Plants N’ Petals <\/a><\/span>added a sophisticated touch. Aisha and Su also included a foot-washing ritual as part of their vows.<\/span> “<\/span>It was truly symbolic of our unselfish love,<\/span>” <\/span>Aisha shares.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the reception, the decor truly shined. Large floral installations featuring cascading orchids and blooms hung over the dance floor, creating a breathtaking focal point. <\/span>Family-style tables were dressed<\/span> in luxe linens and <\/span>adorned with<\/span> lush arrangements, encouraging an inviting atmosphere. The eight-tier black-and-white cake by <\/span>Susie’s Cakes<\/a> added the perfect sweet finish to the <\/span>event’s<\/span> design. The bridal party added a striking contrast to the black-and-white color scheme, with bridesmaids dressed in dark teal gowns that popped beautifully against the neutral decor.<\/span><\/p>\n

But the show-stopping moment of the night? <\/span>Aisha’s<\/span> surprise hair transformation. She switched from flowing locks at the ceremony to a chic pixie cut for the reception.<\/span> “<\/span>His jaw dropped on the floor, and he was ecstatic!<\/span>” <\/span>Aisha says about <\/span>Su’s<\/span> reaction. <\/span><\/p>\n
