{"id":50,"date":"2009-05-08T19:35:55","date_gmt":"2009-05-09T02:35:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/houstonweddingblog.com\/?p=50"},"modified":"2018-03-13T14:03:41","modified_gmt":"2018-03-13T19:03:41","slug":"indian-weddings-trends-part-i","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.weddingsinhouston.com\/blog\/indian-weddings-trends-part-i\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Weddings Trends Part I"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>With Houston\u2019s large, prominent, diverse Indian population, it\u2019s no surprise that Houston\u2019s Indian weddings are at the forefront of style and sophistication. <span> <\/span>On April 15, top wedding pros gathered in the Foundation Room at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.houseofblues.com\/houston\/\"><strong>House of Blues<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>downtown to show off the best and brightest (and I do mean brightest\u2014the color palette is absolutely spectacular) in Indian wedding trends for the coming season.<span> <\/span>The event was the annual wedding trends luncheon, hosted by the Houston chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives, and it was a stunner.<span> <\/span>Of course, the talent lineup was top-notch\u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/www.darrylco.com\/\"><strong>Darryl &amp; Co<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eventsinbloom.com\/\"><strong>Events in Bloom<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.riveroaksflowerhouse.com\/\"><strong>River Oaks Flower House<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.susiescakes.com\/\"><strong>Susie\u2019s Cakes &amp; Confections<\/strong><\/a>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/whomadethecake.com\/\">Who Made the Cake<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.weddingsinhouston.com\/vendor\/edible-designs\/\">Edible Designs by Jessie<\/a><\/strong>, Sari Sapne, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anavideo.com\"><strong>A&amp;A Video<\/strong><\/a> and many more\u2014with Weddings in Houston publisher Radhika Day taking the stage as keynote speaker. <span> <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-84\" title=\"wih-blogpost-3-pic-invite2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.weddingsinhouston.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/wih-blogpost-3-pic-invite2-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"wih-blogpost-3-pic-invite2\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.weddingsinhouston.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/wih-blogpost-3-pic-invite2-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/www.weddingsinhouston.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/wih-blogpost-3-pic-invite2.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>C0-chairs Summer Hutchens Colgin of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foryourmemories.com\"><strong>For Your Memorie<\/strong><\/a><strong>s <\/strong>and\u00a0Jim Gray of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.houstonian.com\/\"><strong>The Houstonian Hotel, Club &amp; Spa<\/strong><\/a>, along with Juliana Wathen of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmocoolconcepts.com\/\"><strong>Cosmo Cool Concepts<\/strong><\/a>, Jessica Choate of the Student Chapter of NACE and our very own Vik Da,y all helped make the event shine.<span> <\/span>Attendees included 215 of Houston\u2019s finest wedding and event experts and the charming David Jones of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.djonesphoto.com\/\"><strong>D. Jones Photograph<\/strong><strong>y<\/strong><\/a> and Mitch Daniels of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mdivideo.com\/\"><strong>MDI Video<\/strong><\/a> captured all the excitement for posterity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>So what did our wedding gurus reveal?<span> <\/span>I\u2019ll get to the goodies in a second, but first I want to point out a couple of things.
