At Florida Atlantic University, Jonathan and Abby crossed paths\u2014him, a football player, and her, a beach volleyball enthusiast. Their story took a romantic turn when Jonathan, inspired by a clever pick-up line, slid into Abby’s Instagram DMs.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Encouraged by his Pastor’s advice on first dates, Jonathan invited Abby to a <\/span>Starbucks,<\/span> where they talked for hours, only parting when the caf\u00e9 closed. Just as their relationship began to bloom, the pandemic forced them into a long-distance arrangement, challenging them to maintain their connection while pursuing their academic and athletic commitments.<\/span><\/p>\n

On a warm summer day in 2023, Jonathan planned a heartfelt proposal in his grandparents’ backyard. The day <\/span>was filled<\/span> with family and poignant moments, including each family member presenting Abby with a single flower, leading her to Jonathan. Jonathan washed Abby’s feet with water and rose petals in a <\/span>deeply<\/span> symbolic act, expressing his love and servant’s heart. The proposal culminated at the dock where Jonathan, in a traditional gesture, knelt and asked Abby to marry him.<\/span><\/p>\n

On December 8, 2023, Abby and Jonathan exchanged vows. The talented Vanessa Martins Photo Co.<\/a> was there to capture every precious moment. Abby, radiant in a modern wedding gown and her great-grandmother’s jewelry, met Jonathan for a first look that left him jumping for joy. Their ceremony <\/span>took place<\/span> outdoors, against the stunning backdrop of a Tuscany-inspired venue adorned with delicate baby’s breath. <\/span><\/p>\n

The decor featured classic black and white elements, including a checkered dance floor. Their cakes were thoughtfully designed, with the main cake garnished with white florals and a groom’s cake that honored Jonathan’s football career. The night ended on a private note with a last dance, followed by a joyous sparkler send-off.<\/span><\/p>\n
