It all started at Baylor University in a video-journalism class when Michaela and Adam were partners for a group project, which turned out to be a match made in heaven. As they were looking at wedding venues, Adam proposed, right down the hall from where their wedding would take place. “I was greeted by a beautiful display of florals, candles and pictures from throughout our relationship\u2026Then, finally, he got down on one knee and read our favorite Bible verse aloud before asking me to marry him!” says Michaela.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On May 30, 2021, the couple married at a modern hotel in the heart of Houston’s museum district with 120 of their family and friends. Michaela envisioned a timeless and elegant wedding consisting of white, black and champagne <\/span>hues. White floral centerpieces filled the room with a blooming floral arch at the altar, designed by Plants N’ Petals<\/a>. Her gown was sophisticated and minimalistic that went along with her bridal bouquet, which was full of flourishing peonies, tightly secured with a charm with photos of her late grandmothers. She also wore a fragment of her grandmother’s wedding gown stitched into her own. During the reception, guests indulged in lavender chipotle-glazed salmon, pasta primavera and roasted chicken, along with hors d’oeuvres like chicken and waffles and delicious Boursin and artichoke beignets. The bride changed from her ceremony dress into a flowy, sweetheart neckline gown and a cowboy hat to perform a choreographed dance with her bridesmaids to “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.” One of their favorite moments from the big day was Michaela and Adam’s first dance to “It Had To Be You” by Frank Sinatra. “It was such a memorable moment because we had been practicing the choreography for weeks, but all the stress about remembering the steps just faded away once we started dancing,” says Michaela.<\/span><\/p>\n
