Planning a wedding while living\u00a01,500 miles apart with limited communication is hard…but\u00a0<\/span>Cortlyn, a pharmaceutical sales representative, and Pate, a marine infantry officer,<\/span>\u00a0pulled it off wonderfully! The couple chose to celebrate their rustic wedding in the picturesque Texas Hill Country<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>Cortlyn and Pate tied the knot in a simple outdoor ceremony under a natural canopy of towering willow trees.<\/p>\n

Following the ceremony, the couple joined 200 loved ones for a charming barn reception. Notes the bride: “Florals, eucalyptus, and candles were a key element in keeping a soft and romantic vibe inside the rustic barn.” The evening’s southern-inspired meal of hand-carved peppered brisket and turkey with cranberry sauce fueled guests for hours of dancing.\u00a0At the end of the night, the groom’s fellow marines switched out their swords for lightsabers to honor the newlyweds with a Star Wars themed salute. Cherished moments for the couple included, “<\/span>Private reading of the vows prior to the ceremony, singing the Aggie War Hymn to conclude the reception and closing with a surprise private last dance.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
