Airplane Engagement Shoot by Civic Photos

Airplane Engagement Shoot

Matt and Kristine first met 7 years ago and bonded over their mutual love for traveling. Every summer the couple would travel together to a different country or a new state. In addition to loving adventure, Matt and Kristine enjoy spontaneity. They would draw country or state names out of a hat in order to choose their summer travel destinations. Their first international trip was to Costa Rica, and this was where they truly fell in love. “People always say you learn the most about your mate when you travel, so here we are conquering the world one travel at a time,” Kristine says. Their love for adventure shines through in this stunning private airplane engagement shoot captured by Barett Henry of Civic Photos. “I thought it was very ironic to have a shoot with a private plane, because it literally describes us both,” Kristine says.

Big thanks to Houston-based photographer Civic Photos for sharing these gorgeous images, and to Matt and Kristine for sharing their beautiful and adventurous love story!

6 Unique Wedding Guestbooks You’ll Display Long After the Big Day

Let’s face it, a regular ol’ guestbook at your wedding will only be useful for one night. After that, it likely will join other keepsakes in a closet somewhere to gather dust until you get a notion to haul it out for a look-see wayyyyy down the road. Instead of a dust-collector, we recommend you re-think your wedding guestbook as a collector-worthy work of personalized art that you’ll be proud to show off in your newlywed nest for years to come!

For travelers and adventure-seekers, a customized globe guestbook lets wedding guests feel like they’re going on this adventure with you!

Family, friends and faith come together in a bible guestbook, where wedding attendees have the opportunity to circle, highlight or decorate around their favorite verse and sign their names, creating an heirloom that can be passed down for generations.

Oh, winter weddings! Full of joy, twinkling lights, and seasonal tidings! What better way to add a personal touch to your Christmas tree than with personalized “guestbook” ornaments, signed by your guests on your wedding day, and enjoyed during the holiday season year after year after year?

One of our current guestbook faves is the Polaroid photo guestbook! Guests will have loads of fun posing for selfie (with or without props), and you’ll have tons of fun for decades to come flipping through a guestbook full of their pix and sweet wedding messages.

Trying to decorate your new “together” home is no easy task, but it’s way more fun when you get to fill it with meaningful personalized artwork like this adorable wedding guestbook, created with oodles of little hearts, each signed by a wedding guest and dropped into a clear frame that’s mantelpiece ready and really, really lovely.

Planning a rustic-elegant wedding? Then this guestbook idea is for you! A personalized wood frame with your names and wedding date makes a great canvas for guests to add their own sign-in “brushstrokes,” creating a perfectly personalized painting you’ll display, with love, now and forever.

Blush, Plum, Ivory & Gold Wedding

You should trust your dad when he tells you he has the perfect guy in mind. Just ask Houston bride, Talia, whose dad set her up with Barry. “He took me to an Ethiopian restaurant, brought me flowers, opened doors… a total gentleman,” says Talia. Unfortunately she wasn’t ready to date him just yet. “Years later I couldn’t stop thinking about him. We reached out to each other on a few occasions, but were never able to meet. Finally, we were able to get together for a cup of coffee, and the rest was history,” adds Talia.

Ten years after their first date, Barry took Talia to the same Ethiopian restaurant where they first met. “After dinner he convinced me to go to the museum to check out a friend’s art show,” recounts Talia. He arranged for a friend to take photos at the Light Tunnel in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. “Once we arrived at the Light Tunnel, I realized no one else was there, and he was on one knee!” adds Talia.

Their wedding was exactly how they pictured it—unique, hints of art deco, and simply elegant. “Balushka, owner of Balushka Paper Floral Artistry, and I always talked about how she would decorate my wedding one day, and when the time came, she did a phenomenal job. She came up with the most gorgeous panels of handmade paper flowers in shades of blush, plum, ivory and gold for our backdrop,” says Talia.

We couldn’t be happier for these two. Congrats and best wishes to the newlyweds! We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we did.
