Intimate Restaurant Wedding by Civic Photos

It’s a story as old as time: Bright-eyed, ambitious young intern meets seasoned company full-timer; water-cooler chat turns flirtatious; love ensues… (OK, we don’t really know about the water cooler part, but you get the picture!). Following a cozy proposal at home, over a home-cooked meal and wine, sweethearts Paola and Aaron made food and wine the center of their focus once again, with an elegant wedding for 35 guests, featuring an intimate church ceremony followed by a six-course French dinner at a favorite Houston restaurant. “Our wedding was meant to be a classic theme that would be beautiful years from now,” the bride tells us, and we have to say, “Yup, looks like you hit the mark perfectly!” We wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, and invite YOU to enjoy their celebration, through these lovely pix, including gorgeous portraits at the historic Julia Ideson Library, from Civic Photos!

Fuchsia, Lavender & Peach Wedding at The Gallery

Rachel and Zach were married on her parent’s anniversary at The Gallery, so they incorporated different elements that gave little nods to that blessed event, and to her Louisiana roots. “I wore my mom’s veil, and Café Natalie created a menu that was full of Cajun cuisine with crab-stuffed mushrooms and blackened Cajun fish with dirty rice,” she adds.

“I wanted our wedding to feel soft, intimate, slightly vintage and romantic,” says the bride, pointing to elements including lace, mercury glass, candles and soft spring colors like fuchsia, lavender and peach.

“Some of my favorite moments were making eye contact with my teary-eyed groom at the end of the aisle, our first dance, toasting to my parent’s 34^th anniversary and dancing to Pharrell’s song ‘Happy,’” says Rachel.

Rustic Peach & Teal Wedding at Old Glory Ranch

Guys—if you want a guaranteed “Yes” from your bae, you’ve got to get the pups involved, like Kyle did with the love of his life, Caitlin. As the bride recounts, “We rented out a beach house in Port Arkansas with our parents for the weekend. After dinner, we went back to the beach for a bonfire to make s’mores. While setting up the s’mores station, I found a card attached to my dog’s collar. I opened it to find a picture of both of my dogs with a note that said, ‘Mom, can Kyle be our new daddy?’ I turned around and saw Kyle down on one knee.” They skipped the s’mores and went straight to celebrating with Champagne!

Eight months later Caitlin and Kyle wed at Wimberley’s lovely Old Glory Ranch with their closest friends and family to witness. “We loved the outdoor romantic feel of the whole day. Texas wildflowers were in bloom. We had our ceremony on a wooden deck under giant trees, right next to the beautiful flowing Blanco River,” says Caitlin.

Favorite moments? There were many—the pups wore floral wreaths as they trotted down the aisle, there was a monarch butterfly release after the ceremony, and Old Glory Ranch provided four miniature donkeys for guests to interact with during the cocktail hour!

Erin is a physical education teacher. Peter is a petroleum engineer. How did these two “PE’s” pair up? “We met at [’80s cover band] The Molly Ringwalds’ concert in 2011. We didn’t know each other, but eventually our groups of friends bumped into each other. We started talking, exchanged numbers, and the rest is history,” recounts Erin. Four years later they traveled to Vietnam, where Peter got down on one knee on the beach with a gorgeous sunset as their backdrop. “It was beautiful,” says Erin. “After he proposed, we had a romantic dinner on the beach.” Sigh. The romance didn’t stop there—their garden-themed wedding was full of lush greenery, blooming flowers and candlelight, all of which set an incredible romantic tone. Peach, Green & Gray Rustic Wedding

Amy and Elliot met at a July 4^th barbecue, instantly hit it off and the rest was history. The pair traveled to a private beach in Mexico to celebrate their one-year anniversary. Little did she know that he had planned the sweetest proposal on the last day of their romantic getaway. Needless to say, Amy said “yes”, and started planning their Spring wedding. Amy and Elliot envisioned an upscale-rustic wedding with personal touches. Lanterns, beautiful flowers by Blooms Design Studio, tea lights, and a seating chart (built by Amy’s brother and bridesmaid) were just a few of the simple details that brought their vision of an elegant, yet rustic wedding come to life.
