Agave Estates Bridal Open House Wed. July 30

Yearning to get away from it all…without really getting away from it all? We’d like to introduce you to an absolute treasure of a destination-wedding site (destination: Katy, Texas). Inspired by the landscape, textures and graciousness of Old Mexico, Agave Estates surrounds wedding couples and their guests with adobe hues and rustic wood beams, wrought-iron fixtures and the flicker of candlelight reflected in placid waters. Two unique venues set on two sprawling, wooded properties totaling 35 acres, Agave Estates features Agave Road, with capacity for 280 guests, and more intimate Agave Real, with room for 200. Both venues benefit from the talents and impeccable service of on-site wedding coordination and design operation Agave Brothers, which offers everything from floral design to ceremony and reception rentals to that tiered wedding confection you’ve envisioned in your happiest wedding dreams. Which means you can have your destination-wedding-cake and eat it too, without ever boarding a plane.

Experience Agave Estates for yourself next Wednesday, July 30, when the acclaimed Houston-area wedding venue throws open its gorgeous imported doors to welcome brides and their besties for tastings, tours and vendor meet-and-greets. The bridal event festivities start at 6 p.m. and go ’til 9:30, so even hardworking Houston brides who have a hard time leaving their work desks can get in on the action. RSVP today, and we’ll see you there!

Sweet Spring, Texas, June Wedding by Ama Photography & Cinema

Selling cell phones might not be the world’s most glamorous job, but it can pay off—with a husband, for instance! It was on the floor of a Sprint retail store where Gesselle met her beloved John, the man she’d eventually marry in a lovely June outdoor ceremony followed by a fun-filled dining-and-dancing reception where burlap, orchids and candlelight played against one another for a perfect rustic-elegant ambiance. Big thanks to Aisha Khan of Ama Photography & Cinema for the lovely photos, and our heartfelt best wishes to the newlyweds!

The Springs Events “Great Wedding Giveaway” Winner Tiffany’s Country-Chic Pecan Springs Wedding

In love with her big brother’s friend Kyle from the time she was 10 years old, Tiffany always dreamed of marrying “the one true love of her life”—but she never could have imagined that she would WIN the wedding of her dreams. But that’s exactly what happened. As the very lucky winner of The Springs Events’ 2013 “Great Wedding Giveaway,” Tiffany scored herself a fabulous wedding at her choice of The Springs Events different rustic-elegant Hill Country venues. She and Kyle opted for Brookshire’s lovely Pecan Springs, where they celebrated their love with a wedding that was, in the bride’s words, “country chic, DIY and infused with a lot of love and delicate details.” These included a canvas hand-painted by the maid of honor that served as the wedding’s guestbook, and a handmade brooch bouquet, designed by a dear friend and made up of brooches that each were family heirlooms handed down from generation to generation. Planning help from coordinator Lean On Me Events ensured a perfect day. “I enjoyed the whole wedding from start to finish, but a few of my favorite moments were when I first saw Kyle when I was walking down the aisle. The way he looked at me brought tears to my eyes.” Congratulations, Tiffany and Kyle, and our thanks to Magek Photography for sharing images of this special day.

Wonder what it feels like to win your dream wedding? Enter the 2013 Springs Events Great Wedding Giveaway by July 1 for your chance to score a WOW wedding at the Springs Events venue of your choice. Click here for details and entry info!

Navy, Gray & Yellow Spring Rooftop Wedding

Of late, we’ve had a flood of truly fabulous proposal stories, and we just gotta say…good work, guys!! You are seriously outdoing yourselves. Take, for instance, Luis, who incorporated his into a photo shoot Herminia was doing as a favor for a good friend of hers. “My friend disappeared to look for his tassel (he was really hiding in the bushes to take pictures of US). Luis showed up with a lens that I really, really wanted. He asked me to take a picture of him so I snapped a couple and when I looked at my camera I noticed he was looking down in one of the photos. I looked at him, and he was knelt down asking me to marry him. It was perfect.” Just about as perfect as the couple’s spring wedding, with its outdoor rooftop wedding ceremony at The Grove—“We provided fans as programs to apologize for the scorching hot Houston sun,” Herminia says—followed by a fun-filled hotel reception for 300 guests. Enjoy these joyful pix of this lovely Houston rooftop wedding, courtesy Jesus Gonzalez Photography, and join us in wishing Herminia and Luis a lifetime of love!
