Gray, Cream & Merlot Spring Wedding at The Bryan Museum
Who says work romances do not end well? Christina and James prove just the opposite. The pair met at work, when James was tasked with training his future-bride-to-be for his old position following a promotion. This turned out to be a life-changing encounter. After a whirlwind two-month romance, James proposed, knowing he had found the one. As avid fans of the Houston Astros, James surprised Christina with a custom Heidi Gibson ring at Minute Maid Park during the Astros’ Holiday at the Park event. With 45 guests, the pair held an intimate outdoor ceremony under the gazebo at The Bryan Museum in Galveston. “We wanted a minimalist look, showcasing the commitment we wanted to make to each other,” the bride says. The celebration continued their celebration amidst the quaint elegance of the museum’s glass-enclosed conservatory. Christina and James show just how unexpected true love can be. Best wishes to this adorable couple!

Evening Garden Wedding at Hughes Manor
Thora and John Henry’s love story begins in a biology class at Houston’s Bellaire High School, when he was a sophomore and she was a freshman. “At the time we met, John Henry had sustained an arm injury allowing him to rely heavily on me for help with notes and such,” Thora tells us. It’s the “and such” that evolved into the love of their lifetimes, culminating in a surprise proposal at the James Turrell Skyspace at Rice U. Six months later, the former high-school sweethearts joined 250 of their nearest and dearest for a lively, lovely, let-your-hair-down celebration of their union at Washington Ave.’s hidden garden wedding gem, Hughes Manor where revelers dined on fresh ceviche and beef tenderloin, and danced the night away, until the couple’s sparkler exit at the end of the night. Please join us in thanking this sweet Houston couple for sharing their wedding day (and all its sparkling, special details) with us!

Romantic Outdoor Ceremony & Indoor Reception at Waters Edge Lakefront Venue
If you’re a Houston Wedding Blog regular, y’all know how much we love it when a GROOM shares his wedding us…and Timothy is just such a groom! He tells us that he met his beloved Oralia at Tomball High School back in 2009, where, “I used to sell her candy and mix tapes in the hallway.” Awww… After attending college together, and falling head over heels in love, Timothy decided to pop the question with a down-on-one-knee December proposal in a “winter wonderland” scene he created, with accompaniment from John Legend’s “All of Me” playing in the background (if you’re not in love with this groom yet, you may want to check your romance meter to make sure it’s operating properly). For their midsummer nuptials, the pair picked Waters Edge, one of our absolute favorite waterfront venues, where they said their vows beside sparkling blue water, beneath a glittering chandelier, framed by billowing white chiffon. Post-vow festivities took the newlyweds and their nearest and dearest indoors, for a high-energy party, where live music, gourmet comfort food and a “draped” wedding cake from Susie’s Cakes & Confections ensure that a fabulous time was had by all. Thank you, Timothy, for sharing your love for Oralia with us and our readers!
