Lovely Texas Summer Seaside Wedding at Hotel Galvez

OK, major proposal cuteness: “Matt made me breakfast in bed to celebrate my job promotion. As we were toasting with Champagne, he picked up our puppy and placed him in my lap. When I looked down my ring was on the puppy’s bandana. I said, ‘Yes,’ cried and then we called everyone we knew to tell them we were moving to Dallas for my new job AND we were getting married!” Allison and her California cutie tied the knot at the Hotel Galvez in front of 100 beloved guests. A vibrant, summery wedding color palette of pink, orange and green played perfectly off the historic Galveston hotel’s backdrop of breezy whites and neutrals, and set the stage for a lively and lovely beach wedding. “An elegant, fun, country-Aggie wedding with tons of personalized touches” is how Alaina describes her wedding to former high-school sweetheart James. “On the tables, we had hearts made out of horseshoes that my 84-year-old grandfather made. For wedding favors we had ‘Lovin’ Me Some Lava Cakes’ in mason jars. We also had ‘Pinking of You Lemonade’ served in mason jars with old-fashioned striped paper straws for the kids. We even had personalized WANTED-poster gift bags for the youngest party-goers. Highlights were the gorgeous flowers, the nonstop dancing, and the photo booth which was so much fun!” And we’ve had nothing but fun fawning over Lindsay Elizabeth Photography’s pretty pix of this bright, beautiful spring wedding. Retro, Soul-Filled Wedding by C. Baron Photography

They’re both vegetarians. Their favorite season is fall. They both love cooking and vintage soul records and, more than anything, one another. When Camille and Nathan decided to make it official, the pair knew they wanted to their wedding to be an unforgettable reflection of their likes, and their love. Camille spent hours scouring consignment and thrift shops, “scooping up as many pretty amber vessels and goblets as I could find,” she tells us. Reprints of the pairs’ parents’ and grandparents’ weddings mixed with potted succulents and glowing candles in a tableau the two created by hand. On the moonlit eve of their magnificent event, the historic Gardens of Bammel Lane was filled with autumnal shades of marigold, amber, orange and green—not to mention plenty of dancing to—what else?—sweet soul music from days gone by. We’re delighted to share C. Baron Photography’s very pretty pictures of this unique, DIY-filled wedding. And even more delighted to wish Camille and Nathan a lifetime of happiness, music and love.
