Gorgeous Fall Wedding at La Colombe d’Or

Stephanie and Josh met in what the bride says “was the most cliche way”: at work, near the water cooler. (You say cliche, we say CUTE.) The colleagues remained friends for a year and a half before they began dating, and only six months later, they were engaged to be married. “The proposal was private and personal, which suited us perfectly,” recounts Stephanie. “He beat me home from work and was waiting with our favorite bottle of wine, our song playing on the stereo and a speech that I honestly don’t remember!” Their November wedding began with a traditional Presbyterian ceremony, attended by 175 family members and friends, followed by a stunning reception at La Colombe d’Or. Blush and gold accents combined with soft white lighting set a romantic mood, while LG Entertainment kept the party going strong all evening long. “Although I didn’t start off liking Jimmy (due to the fact that he was a minor league baseball player and I didn’t like athletes), I apparently was won over by his great dart skills,” says Houston bride Alex. The pair may have two different stories about how their love story began while they were interning for the Houston Texans, but they can both agree that, ultimately, they were inseparable. “Our wedding was a dream come true. We’ve never felt more loved or special,” recounts Alex. “Our officiant was Jimmy’s best friend, so that made the ceremony more personal. It was an incredible feeling.” We can’t begin to tell you how breathtaking Alex looked in her lace gown from Weddings by Debbie. Incorporating Persian culture in the wedding ceremony was very important to Houston bride Ametis. “Plants N’ Petals took my ideas and created a fairytale that came to life. My vision was to create a romantic feel with a neutral color palette of white, gold and blush throughout the ceremony and reception. It was more beautiful than I could have imagined,” she says. Favorite moments? “Chris and I wanted to be surrounded by our family and close friends to celebrate our special day.
