White, Gold & Champagne Wedding at The Bell Tower on 34th

Sara and William went out one night as individual moral support to two of their dear friends—having no clue they would be the ones actually meeting their soulmate on that fateful evening. Sara still finds it surreal that the friends they’d chaperoned only dated for a couple of weeks…while she and William ended up getting married! Fast-forward to Easter weekend a few years later, when William accompanied Sara and her family on a fishing trip to Galveston. The couple remembers, “We had a blast spending time together, even though nobody caught a thing!” However, William had bigger plans in mind…he found the perfect opportunity to pull Sara’s dad aside, and asked for her hand in marriage. Her father was thrilled and of course gave his blessing! Later that night, Sara and William were on the balcony of their Galveston condo having a wonderful conversation about their relationship and how lucky they were to have found one another. Then William said, “Do you know what would make this better?” And he dropped to one knee, under the stars, and asked Sara to marry him. Sara couldn’t believe how perfect the moment was—just as she said, “Yes!” the moon cast a dreamy shadow on their balcony as if it was destiny. Sara and William said their vows with an elegant black-tie wedding at The Bell Tower on 34th, with an “all white, gold and champagne” palette, per Sara’s express wishes, and personalized touches everywhere. Sara’s DIY wedding favors and handmade wedding decor touches included stir sticks, coasters and koozies! You go, girl. Best wishes and cheers to the future, Sara and William!

Gold & Black Wedding at Hotel ZaZa by Civic Photos

Sharon and Manuel’s fate was sealed when they were attending a salsa dancing event one night in March of 2012. Manuel’s best friend instantly saw how perfect the two would be together, so he introduced them. A few years later, Manuel knew he was more than ready to make Sharon his wife and had a surprise proposal planned. One January evening, the couple made a trip to Hermann Park in Houston’s Museum District. Manuel led Sharon over to a romantic little gazebo and asked Sharon to be his, forever. He even hired a photographer to capture the moment from a hidden location (bonus points!) But Manuel’s plans didn’t stop there. He had dinner arrangements for them to get to…where their families were waiting to celebrate! Seriously, could this engagement get any sweeter? The two said vows and celebrated their love story with a ceremony and reception at Houston’s ultra-chic Hotel ZaZa. Their gold and black color palette was a perfectly stunning complement to the hotel’s deeply romantic tones. The couple remembers having the most divine wedding cakes, courtesy of Who Made The Cake, for their celebration: “The main cake was made with Italian cream with vanilla ice cream in one tier and raspberry cake with raspberry filling in another”—and to add to that decadence—“The [Star Wars theme] groom’s cake was chocolate on chocolate.” Yum. Sharon recounts: “One of my favorite moments was when my husband surprised me with a song, playing the conga with the band. It was amazing!” We wish the newlyweds a life filled with love and even more wonderful memories. Thank you, Civic Photos, for capturing the beauty, joy and exhilaration of Manuel and Sharon’s celebration!

DIY Wedding by Binford Creative Photography

Breanna and Corey’s love story started out with the perfect foundation…they were friends, ever since they had worked together at a local wine bar a few years back. However, when their careers went different ways, well…that’s when their love story really began. Breanna remembers the exact night Corey proposed. It was June 3, 2014. They decided they wanted to upgrade from apartment living to buying their first house in Houston. They had just spent a full day, with her dad’s assistance (shout out to dads for always helping out), moving their furniture to the new house. Corey was running a bar at the time and had to go to work that night, but absolutely insisted that Breanna wait up for him at the new house. Breanna recalls Corey repeating over and over, “DO NOT GO TO SLEEP, BABE!” However, she fell asleep anyway…but hey we’ve all done it : ) Corey got home at 3:00 am and immediately woke Breanna up—brave move waking up a sleeping beauty—but he said he had a surprise to celebrate their new place. He had glasses of Champagne ready to toast to their new home and their future, and with that, Corey asked Breanna to be his wife and stay in this home, and in his future, forever. (Okay, that’s a pretty darn sweet moment to wake up for!) Breanna says she “sure was awake after all of that!” The two had a simply gorgeous wedding filled with special DIY touches…Breanna’s mother did ALL of the flowers and decor! Breanna and her bridesmaids spent the day getting ready at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown before the nuptials began at a beautiful garden venue. She wore a stunning Enzoani lace fit and flare gown from Brickhouse Bridal down the aisle, which fit her perfectly. Binford Creative Photography did an impeccable job documenting Breanna and Corey’s day. We can’t stop gushing over these photos. Breanna and Corey, we wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Navy & Gold Wedding at Ashelynn Manor

A co-worker at a local YMCA (where Erica and Adam met for the first time—keep reading for the fairytale ending…) had said multiple times that the two were meant to be. She knew they would undoubtedly be the most beautiful couple and insisted that they had to get married…even though the two hadn’t even had their first shift together. Adam acted upon their matchmaking friend’s persistent advice and worked up the courage to talk to Erica…and the two have been inseparable ever since. Adam is a New York native and Erica always dreamed of visiting The Big Apple during a snowy winter. So they booked a trip for New Year’s, which of course made Erica suspicious that a proposal might be in the works. On their first night in the city, while posing for some photos in front of the beautifully lit Rockefeller tree, Adam popped the question! Erica remembers the moment like it was yesterday; the freezing weather, the incredible Rockefeller tree, and Adam wanting just one more photo. “So we took another and that’s when he got down on his knee.” Swoon. The Houston couple said “I do” with a romantic navy and gold wedding ceremony at the Ashelynn Manor Chapel, with a reception after at the venue’s Carriage House. The celebration was complete with friends and loved ones, and pretty, pretty floral designs provided by HEB Blooms. Erica and Adam remember their absolute favorite moment from the day, which was “when it was done and we were finally married! Now all that was left was to party!” And we totally agree. We wish this happy couple all the best and more.
