Houston bride Rozlind wanted her wedding to be a fabulous party that still had a warm, inviting feeling. From the black and white decor, to the all-white flowers, and romantic candlelit ballroom at Hotel ZaZa, Rozlind and Matthew’s wedding was the definition of modern glam. Michael planned the sweetest proposal for his high school sweetheart Sarah. “After dinner, Michael told me to put a blindfold on. He took me to several places around Kingwood where we had special memories: our first kiss, where he first told me he loved me, and our old high school meet-up spot. At each stop, Michael gave me a rose and proceeded to tell me a reason why he loved me at every spot. The final stop was at the golf course where Michael and I had our first date. When I took off the blindfold, he was down on one knee with rose petals scattered around him and a bottle of champagne. After I said “yes”, Michael had gathered both of our families to celebrate,” says bride Sarah. A sweet proposal story like this deserves an even sweeter wedding. Blush, Ivory & Silver Wedding at Omni Houston Hotel

“It was Christmas Eve 2013. Tristan said he had a gift ornament for me hanging on the tree. On the front it read, “Our first Christmas together,” and on the back was a bride and groom. I turned around and he was on one knee asking to spend the rest of our Christmases together,” says Autumn. So sweet, right? A year later, Autumn wed Tristan in a lace Pronovias gown from Parvani Vida Bridal & Formal and celebrated with 165 of their nearest and dearest at the Omni Houston Hotel. Favorite moment? “Dancing with all of our family and friends,” Autumn says. Congrats and best wishes to the newlyweds!

Jewelry designer Katie Decker has a passion for ornamentation, so it’s no surprise the bride selected La Colombe d’Or’s magnificently ornate, oak-paneled Grand Salon to celebrate her marriage to high-school sweetheart Mitchell. Having already designed her own rose-gold engagement ring, Katie took her inspiration from the romantic hue, bringing the color to her cake, her invitations, even her blush-toned Ines Di Santo gown from beloved Houston salon Mia Bridal Couture. At the couple’s elegant reception, French-style furniture surrounding the dance floor “made it feel as if you had gone back in time and entered a Belle-Epoque-style club,” Katie says. And while dining and dancing in that lavish environment was decidedly delightful, the bride says her favorite memory was “walking down the aisle and seeing Mitchell for the first time, with all our friends and family in one place. It was so surreal…and such a happy occasion.”

Having begun their courtship at the University of Georgia, it’s no surprise that Kelli and A.J. wanted their wedding to “feel like an elegant garden party at a Southern home.” As the bride describes, “The ambiance began with a drive up scenic River Oaks Blvd. with Houston’s most beautiful homes,” and continued with a gracious country-club setting, decorated with soft-pink peonies, mercury-glass votives, twinkle-lights and French armchairs. A reception menu filled with Southern favorites—fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, pulled-pork sliders—nourished guests for a night of dancing to live music. As the night progressed, guests enjoyed hand-rolled Cuban cigars on the starlit patio, and late-night chicken-and-waffle bites. Jo Ann Schwartz Woodward (of wedding consulting firm Schwartz & Woodward) was great at listening to our vision and implementing it flawlessly,” Kelli says. “It was truly the wedding of our dreams!”
