“We wanted our day to reflect a coming together and honoring of those we love, so the winter season seemed like the perfect time for our celebration. I never could have imagined just how beautiful the evening would be, and my initial entry into the ballroom brought me to tears. The intimate lighting of hundreds of candles, the warmth of white lights on fir trees, the live jazz band playing classic tunes in the background, and being surrounded by the faces of those we hold closest to our hearts made it feel like an evening of coming home,” says Houston bride Ashley. The European-style gardens and elegant simplicity of The Parador made it the perfect venue for the couple, who brought in subtle design elements in a soft, romantic color palette of cream, champagne, gold and bronze. A perfect Valentine’s date—Galveston harbor tour, lovely lunch, Moody Gardens stroll—turned into an evening Rachel will never forget, when Jonathan surprised her with a candlelit marriage proposal at his Houston home. Six months later, the pair said their vows before 200 friends and family members at the same church where they’d first met at a singles’ bible-study class. A vintage Rolls-Royce—arranged by the bride’s father as a surprise for the newlyweds—conveyed the couple to their country-club reception, where they dined and danced the night away. “It was truly everything I could ever have dreamed of and more,” Rachel says. “Our wedding day and love story came right out of a fairytale.”

Vintage Blush and Gold Wedding at Ashton Gardens

Houston bride Tera first met her prince charming right around the corner- literally. Tera and Shawn lived in the same neighborhood, attended the same schools, and shared mutual friends. It wasn’t until he came back home from the Air Force 11 years later that they reunited at their best friend’s wedding. Tera and Shawn hit it off and the rest was history. The lovebirds celebrated with 80 of their nearest and dearest at one of Houston’s most unique wedding venues- Ashton Gardens. The romantic chandeliers and color palette of blush, cream and gold set the tone for their vintage wedding. Congrats and well wishes to the newlyweds!

Rustic-Chic Spring Wedding at Old Glory Ranch

Whitney and Zak’s picture-perfect spring wedding at Old Glory Ranch was the very picture of elegant simplicity. “Old Glory Ranch is so beautiful that it doesn’t need a lot of decorations” says bride Whitney. “The elegant rustic setting of the outdoor patio along with the beautiful spring creations and centerpieces were all that were needed to evoke the perfect atmosphere.” She adds, “Our wedding was all about spring, family and being in love. I have always been a bit of a free spirit. I love being by the water, being outdoors, and I love flowers of any and every kind.” Wimberley’s Old Glory Ranch offered all of these elements, to which Whitney added vintage family wedding photos and filled the celebration with her favorite music. From its serene gold-accented palette, to its seasonal menu of roasted corn chowder and beef tenderloin with wild-mushroom-and-onion risotto, to its crystal chandeliers and soft candlelight, Hayley and Jeffrey’s fall wedding is pretty much a perfect example of how to do fall elegance fabulously. The couple, who met on a blind date (!!)—which led to a second date the very next day—wanted their marriage celebration to be not just full of love, but utterly timeless.
