Decidedly unromantic memories of their first high-school encounters—Ryan stepping on Marla’s foot at the homecoming dance, awkward eye contact in the halls—eventually led to magnificent memories of the most extraordinary occasion of their lives. Dressed in a stunning Austin Scarlett gown and matching custom veil, Marla wed Ryan in a church ceremony, then joined guests for dining and dancing at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa, in a romantic ballroom done up in dreamy shades of blush, pink, cream and gold. While the evening’s great music, late-night chicken and waffles, and flower-bedecked wedding cake all were highlights, “One of our favorite memories was sharing a dance with my grandparents, who have been married for 62 years and were also high-school sweethearts,” Marla says. “I don’t know if there was a dry eye in the room.”

Vintage Blush and Gold Wedding at Ashton Gardens

Houston bride Tera first met her prince charming right around the corner- literally. Tera and Shawn lived in the same neighborhood, attended the same schools, and shared mutual friends. It wasn’t until he came back home from the Air Force 11 years later that they reunited at their best friend’s wedding. Tera and Shawn hit it off and the rest was history. The lovebirds celebrated with 80 of their nearest and dearest at one of Houston’s most unique wedding venues- Ashton Gardens. The romantic chandeliers and color palette of blush, cream and gold set the tone for their vintage wedding. Congrats and well wishes to the newlyweds!

From its serene gold-accented palette, to its seasonal menu of roasted corn chowder and beef tenderloin with wild-mushroom-and-onion risotto, to its crystal chandeliers and soft candlelight, Hayley and Jeffrey’s fall wedding is pretty much a perfect example of how to do fall elegance fabulously. The couple, who met on a blind date (!!)—which led to a second date the very next day—wanted their marriage celebration to be not just full of love, but utterly timeless. There’s a certain, special, sense-of-mystery romance that only online dating can create. Just ask recent bride Vanessa, who spoke by phone to eHarmony match Eric almost every day for THREE MONTHS before meeting him face-to-face. Luckily, their in-person meeting was just as romantic as those many, many phone calls, and almost two years to the day they first laid eyes on each other, the pair wed in front of 250 loved ones at a magnificent Madera Estates celebration. While Vanessa says that selecting her song list and making her seating chart were no piece of cake, the wedding itself was pure sweetness, done up in elegant shades of ivory and blush, Vanessa radiant in her Maggie Sottero gown from Brickhouse Bridal. Classic, Traditional, Blush, Green and Gold Houston Wedding at Chateau Cocomar

Looking absolutely gorgeous in her Lazaro gown, bride Corina wed handsome groom Eric in front of 130 of the couple’s nearest and dearest. And despite the heat of the summer day, Chateau Cocomar looked fresh and cool for the occasion, filled as it was with crisp linens, gorgeous blush and ivory flowers courtesy of Arteflora, and plenty of light-catching crystals. For all its elegant formality, this Houston couple’s wedding was also FUN, featuring dancing, sparklers, teddy bears…and a performance by none other than the bride herself!
