WEDDINGS IN HOUSTON FALL 2014 | REAL WEDDING FEATURE

Cameron & Bryar ~ October 5, 2013

There’s something to be said for spontaneity, notes bride Cameron, whose then-boyfriend Bryar “proposed completely out of the blue at my apartment on a lazy Sunday afternoon.”  While the proposal may have been less than formal, the couple’s Galveston wedding was a grand celebration at the historic Tremont House hotel, where 300 guests enjoyed gourmet Texas specialties—seafood gumbo, shrimp and grits, beef brisket—along with DIY Champagne cocktails, glamorous boas, and dancing on a magnificent monogrammed white dance floor. The bride’s favorite memory? “Dancing a father-daughter dance to ‘My Girl.’”

WEDDINGS IN HOUSTON FALL 2014 | REAL WEDDING FEATURE

Lana and Bojan ~ February 1, 2014

Sometimes it takes a wedding to inspire a wedding. Take the case of Houston lovebirds Lana and Bojan, who traveled to New Mexico for a friend’s nuptials. “The day before the wedding, Bojan surprised me by renting a car and taking me sightseeing through gorgeous forests and snow-covered slopes,” Lana recounts. On the way back to their hotel, Bojan stopped, got out of the car, and told Lana to close her eyes. “When I opened them, he was standing next to a snowman. He asked me to look inside the snowman, and when I did, I found the engagement ring. Truly one of the happiest days of my life,” the bride says. Another happy day? The day of the couple’s magnificent La Colombe d’Or wedding, of course.

Romantic Hotel ZaZa Spring Wedding by Akil Bennett Photography

Wednesday, January 14th, 2015

“We met at a charity camp for children with cancer called Candlelighter’s, back in El Paso,” recounts recent bride Paige. “Patrick was the counselor for the youngest boys and I was the counselor for the youngest girls. Patrick had a ‘tough guy’ exterior, but seeing him with those children, gentle and kind, melted my heart and I was immediately in love. By the end of the camp we were constantly talking and flirting, sharing music and books; it was a beautiful beginning to a beautiful relationship.” We’ll second that, Paige. And third it. And just melt over it right along with you, while we sigh over Akil Bennett’s gorgeous photos of your Hotel ZaZa spring wedding. Thank you so much for donating your time and love to children in need, and for sharing your beautiful day with our beautiful Houston brides. Congratulations!

Sage, Peach & Coral Garden Wedding by J. Cogliandro Photography

Monday, December 29th, 2014

Robin first met Andrew back in 2003 when he hired her as his paralegal. “I had no idea my future husband was right down the hall all those years,” says Robin, who would one day marry that charming attorney in the garden of the home she would share with him in the heart of Houston’s Museum District. On that wonderful day, the couple’s home provided the perfect backdrop to complement their nature-inspired wedding theme, where shades of coral and peach provided pops of color among the soft beige and ivory decor. Following the enchanted-garden ceremony, a cocktail hour on the pool terrace treated guests to fine wine, cocktails and hors d’oeuvre. The reception took place in the backyard underneath a tent covered with quince branches and hung with a chandelier draped with flowers in shades of peach, apricot and coral. Swooning already? Yeah, we thought so. Check out the decadent details for yourself in our amazing photos by J. Cogliandro Photography. Congrats and well wishes to the newlyweds!
