While you’re busy shopping for the perfect wedding gown, don’t forget what goes underneath! An exquisite pair of stockings and coordinating garter belt is guaranteed to make you feel sensual and special. But don’t base your choice of bridal underthings on beauty alone. As for stockings, we recommend 100-percent pure silk (with a backup pair or two packed in your wedding-day emergency kit). And remember, sheer white or nude invisible-toe stockings are perfectly fine with peep-toe shoes, but if you’re planning on wearing true sandals, you might skip the stockings altogether and go for gorgeous bridal panties and a perfect pedicure, instead. |

The Parador
Sheila Wells says it’s “the positiveness” of weddings that she enjoys most in her role as events coordinator for The Parador in Houston’s Museum District. She notes that the circa-1928 building, which marries Mediterranean style with Byzantine detail, is perfect for couples who want privacy for their wedding: “It’s their own villa for their special night—they’re not competing with any other events.” The Parador, a former church, features a soaring dome, raised stage and space for 300 guests. Adds Wells, “Our large gardens are beautifully landscaped,” providing further ceremony, reception and photo-op options for couples and their guests.
