{ Last Chance to Get Your Tix
for the "I Do!" at Hotel ZaZa }

Looks like the "I Do!" Bridal Soiree at Hotel ZaZa is destined to be another sold-out Weddings in Houston event. Which is great! But that means tickets will NOT be available at the door on Thurs., Oct. 14. Which is, um, not so great. Make sure you don’t miss out on the poolside beats, celebrity wedding style, divine wedding design inspiration, killer bridal swag and free-flowing Z cocktails at Houston’s hippest hotel by snagging your tickets now (at only $12 a pop!). We can’t wait to meet you at the most amazing bridal show—and hottest party—in town.

{ Best In Bridal Beauty }

While you’re doing your due diligence to be your beautiful bridal best for your wedding, we thought we’d help you out a little with a roundup of best beauty posts from the Houston Wedding Blog. Fabulous nails, smooth, hair-free skin, luscious lashes, perfect pearly whites—we’ve got the goods on getting in picture-perfect condition for your big day!

{ Spotlight on Style }

Style, In a Cinch

You may have noticed that belts are BIG this season. As much as we love a sweet belted cardigan or funky belted sweater-dress, we are dazzled by a beautiful bridal belt (so’s Chelsea, by the way—she wore one on her gorgeous Vera Wang ballgown). Bridal belts—beaded, jeweled, embellished—are perfect for adding a touch of sparkle to your look, even if you’ve chosen an understated gown. A bridal belt can also transform a sheath or goddess gown into an entirely new silhouette, or elegantly define the waistline on a fit-and-flare, trumpet or other figure-hugging style. Almost all bridal designers offer their own styles, sold as separate accessories to accompany their gowns—so make sure to ask your Houston salon consultant for recommendations. Beyond the designers, bridal belts can be quite tricky to find—except in the artisan arena, where handmade belts are plentiful and pretty darn fabulous. Pictured here, a few of our favorite styles!

Sarah Ali, owner

Not only is Sarah Ali a licensed professional counselor and life coach, AND a portrait photographer, but she also happens to be a Hollywood-trained makeup artist with more than 12 years of experience.

Her Sugar Land beauty and wellness center, The Transformation Studio, concentrates all of her capabilities into one fabulous facility—one where a bride can find serenity and well-being, while getting flawless skin and a fabulous updo. In fact, Ali says, “As a psychotherapist I have had brides actually sign up for counseling sessions before, during, and after the wedding to deal with the stress, and the transition, and develop good coping skills.”

As for outer beauty, Ali and her team of eight expert makeup artists use “the very best professional makeup lines, including Makeup Forever, Kryolan, Smashbox, FACE atelier, Julie Hewett, and M.A.C.” A darker-skinned beauty herself, Ali has also launched her own line, Chamak Makeup, which includes custom-blended foundations, concealers, lip and eye products. “A bride could set up an appointment and create her own signature makeup shades for her wedding day based on her skin tone and preference. She could bring in a discontinued lipstick and we would be able to match it. A woman who has never found the right foundation will now have an exact match.” In addition to her hubby-to-be, that is.
