With Houston’s large, prominent, and diverse Indian population, it’s no surprise that Houston’s Indian weddings are at the forefront of style and sophistication.
On April 15, 2009, top wedding pros gathered in the Foundation Room at the House of Blues downtown to show off the best and brightest in Indian wedding trends for the coming season. The event was the annual wedding trends luncheon, hosted by the Houston chapter of NACE (the National Association of Catering Executives,) chaired by Summer Hutchens Colgin of For Your Memories.
Weddings in Houston Magazine Publisher, Radhika J. Day took the stage as Keynote Speaker. D.Jones Photography, and MDI Video photographed and video taped the event.
Show stopping decor was created by Darryl & Co. Events in Bloom, Over the Top Linen, Aztec Events & Tents, The Perfect Touch and A Finer Event. Magnificent Indian mandap displays by River Oaks Flower House and Elegant Events took center stage along with mannequins in ornate traditional wedding attire from Sari Sapne boutique and exquisite cakes by Who Made The Cake!, Edible Designs by Jessie and Susie’s Cakes & Confections.
Guests wined and dined on Indian inspired dishes prepared by the House of Blues and a cardamom infused wedding cake filled with mango mousse from Susie’s Cakes & Confections as they were entertained by a classical Orissi Dancer, lively bhangra dancers, henna artists and spirited Dhol players.
